You may of repented. But you have sinned in the past three months.
So lets say in a hypothetical i'm an atheist, and I have skimmed through some verses in the bible and I present these verses to you.
1. Who the son of man sets free is free indeed.
2. Thy word I have hidden in my heart that I might not sin against thee
3. Sin not but if ye sin ye have an advocate with the father
4. Thou that committeth sin is of the devil (continuously)
5. God judges the righteous and is angry with the wicked everyday (wicked is synonymous with sinner)
6. Being then made free from sin ye became the servants of righteousness.
7. Lay not a foundation of repentance (once you truly repent from a sin you shouldn't return again and again)
(I quoted these from memory so wording may be off)
COnclusion: Then as an atheist I could only conclude the following if you simply state nah I'm a christian and I'm telling you you'll sin again bud.
1. The bible lies
2. Your God isn't real because apparently a christian here is telling me....hey you know salvation just keeps you from fornication for a bit and then after a few months you dive right back in you know?
3. Salvation doesn't work or your presenting me the wrong method of salvation (I would hope the atheist would consider the latter but often times they don't).
Question: So how would you respond to these verses?? You could say the bible doesn't mean what it says...but then the atheist would think... man... how can I trust a bible that doesn't mean what it says? How can christianity even be correct if the bible doesn't mean what it says?
