I have panic attacks and used to wanted to do affirmations (repeating statements for a longtime) but discovered affirmations is not accepted in Christian community because it's seen as a demonic practice.

How about repeating bible verses instead for 5-10mins?

They say Satan likes to copy God so what if affirmations are a copy of repeating bible verses.

If a person spends time memorizing bible verses, they are also pushing out worldly rubbish at the same time.
This helps in controlling what thoughts remain in your mind and helps one to focus.

Isaiah 55:7
Let the wicked forsake his way,
And the unrighteous man his thoughts;
Let him return to the Lord,

And:
Mark 7; 21
For from within, out of the heart of men, proceed evil thoughts,...

Additionally, 2Cor 10:5

casting down arguments and every high thing that exalts itself against the knowledge of God, bringing every thought into captivity to the obedience of Christ,

Keep on meditating on the Logos!

Memorizing 5 or ten minutes of scripture that you can then repeat verbatim is a great exercise for the mind and soul

But repeating just one word or a few words of scripture a zillion times is not approved of by Christ in the book of Matthew

Memorize the Bible! start with whatever you can manage and add some every day. It gets easier. Choose a favourite passage first. Go for it!

I really think that should depend upon what one is doing that they are affirming themselves about...
Eastern Orthodox have something called the Jesus Prayer which is traditionally repeated - it's short and to the point.
Not really a specific verse - more like a cliff note in 1 sentence

"Faith comes by hearing and hearing by the word of God" If we are to live by Gods word, surely we need to learn it for ourselves and to meditate on it day and night as thr bible tells us. How shall we stand against the whiles of the devil, if we cannot quote the word of God. We are in a battle and we are called to be more than conquerers. Also rightly deviding the word of truth. Of course we should memorise and learn His word!
