This pastor says that it is. And he calls out church leaders to label it as a sin.
Well, That's Jim Wallis. He used to be newsworthy.

It depends on what you define as racism.
True. The word has come to mean whatever the speaker wants it to mean, so the question of the thread really has no answer.

No that is not racist. Racism is an insult to one's race, not country of origin.

Seems like you don't understand true racism.

Racism is when you discriminate against a specific race.

He simply told a group of immigrants that if they hate our country and how things are done here to simply go back to their own country. This is not discriminating against anyone but rather stating a fact.

Discrimination would be refusing to hire anyone of a specific race or giving them lower pay because of their race. There are many more examples but Trump does none of those.

True racism has nothing to do with hurtful words and more to do with actions.

Do you think he would have said the same thing if the individuals in question had been Caucasian?

The racism is the assumption that because they are not white, that they are not American, and must be from somewhere else (even though 3 out of 4 were born in the US).

That's only the assumption you're making.

Pretty racist of you too. Only noticing it because their skins aren't white.

Would there be outrage if Trump said it to whiteys? Of course not.

It's obvious in context. How many times have he or other politicians said things like that to Caucasians?

If those people were from Russia, Greece, or some other country with a broken down economy, and he felt they were insulting America as these women were? I have no doubt he would have said the same thing to them as well.

Racism is when you assume he only said it to the because they were not white, and you have no legitimate reason for believing so.

Never! How many times have he or other politicians said things like that to non whites? Never! What's your point? Donald Trump insults everybody he doesn't like. Most of the people he insults are white. It would be racist for him to refrain from insulting blacks or brown people because of their color.

Even if they just had ancestors in those countries but were born in the USA?

You're really not familiar with the historically racist connotations of 'go back where you came from' (especially when the person in question isn't a first generation immigrant)?

Has he told white people who were born in the US that they should go back to the countries their ancestors were from?

Ah, but does he insult white people 'because of their skin color'??

But you do hit on what is likely my primary reason for not liking Trump....he insults everybody he doesn't like. I didn't like Don Rickles either and he wasn't even president.

Look, the man is a racist. Get over it. Fanboys should be proud of their leader and not have to concoct elaborate reasons why their leader should be excused for his bad behavior.

He was obviously under the impression they were all immigrants.

First of all, he didn’t say “go back to where you came from” he said “Go back to where you came from, fix that economy, then come back and show us how it’s done! That is much different.

But even if he did say “go back where you came from” (which he did not) are you saying the polish and the Irish weren’t historically told this as well? They’re white!

Not good enough. If you want to be taken seriously, when you make a claim, you need to back it up. You simply calling the man a racist does not make him a racist.

There is only one definition of racism: prejudice of all people belonging to another race.

There are actually many definitions by very very crazy people.

We are all "racist" to an extent, or we wouldn't even notice differences in us. But, we DO notice... and we react quickly and loudly (either side).
Jesus tells us that although we see it, to get past it and live with one another. After all, it is God, Himself, who made the various races, and made them very noticeably different, one from another.

Something about a Mexican-American judge in Indiana not being qualified? I can't remember exactly but the quote set off a national firestorm.
No, that is not what he said. He said that since his case was directly against Mexico, he felt he would get a better evaluation from a Judge less inclined toward Mexico. Would you want a Russian judge if you were fighting Russia... or anything Russian?
Courts are disqualified all the time for possible prejudicial leanings in particular cases. Trump is just open and honest, saying what he thinks. Other lawyers slip around and "quietly" effect their changes of venue.

CNN must have done a good job twisting the facts if this is true because of the way they reported it.

Very crazy people make stuff up.

Exactly. With all of the "micro aggression" and other terminology being thrown around today, everyone is racist by liberal standards. So sit down and just stop crying "muh raycism!!! Wahhhhhhh!" At every little tiny thing.

LOL Invalid. People even use the word racist for prejudice that has nothing to do with race (like religion).

One day in high school psychology my class watched a video about a middle school teacher doing another type of prejudice study. With support from the school's principal, she told students with brown eyes to be mean to or ignore those with blue eyes, but nice to other brown-eyed people, and kids with blue eyes not to be mean or ignorant toward anyone, for the entire next day. The results matched the mental effects of black/white racial prejudice, so the next week she wrote to the American Psychological Association.
