How can you be sure that the copies, of copies, of copies, of the original manuscripts truly reflect what was written in the originals, when the earliest manuscripts in our possession were written hundreds of years after the originals, and have thousands of variations among them? When were the printing press and digital media invented, 2000 years ago?
You seem to think that written documents are 100% failsafe in transmitting truth, but that has been proven false many times over.
Scripture teaches that God prevents the Church from defining error, and that Scripture is God breathed. It does not teach that the Textus Receptus, the Critical Text, or your translations thereof are God breathed. This is why you stand on shaky ground - you base your faith on a translation of a compilation of manuscripts that disagree with each other, and you lack the infallible guidance and Tradition of the Church to prevent you from falling into error.
I believe that God would not allow His word to be corrupted. Is that your defense for the catholic traditions contradicting the bible? You believe the bible is wrong and the church that tortured and killed people for over 700 years is right?
We know that when Jesus died on the cross the temple curtain was torn in two, top to bottom. Perhaps some folks missed the significance?
I haven't been taught anything about this but I'm going to take a shot in the dark here. Based on Hebrews 10:19-20 I'm guessing that either Jesus or God the Father tore the vail or curtain indicating that we can now enter the most holy place because of Jesus' sacrifice. Is that correct?

Ad hominem - WikipediaThe scriptures were written long before the catholic church existed. All the catholic church did was put them all into one book. Also attacking the catholic church is not something I enjoy doing but when it comes to oral teachings according to Jesus the integrity of the person doing the oral teaching does play a very important role. According to Wikipedia the first Christian writings of purgatory appear between 1160AD-1180AD and the inquisitions started by pope Gregory VII in 1184AD. I think this is a very relevant piece of information when examining the origin of these oral teachings. There were many different denominations of 1st century Christianity that were discredited by their actions. Even tho they claimed to be Christians it was clear that by their actions their faith was false. I hope you noticed that I did say that I don't see the same type of behavior in the catholic church today that we saw during the mid evil times. I'm not like many people who say things like catholics worship Mary and the saints. I don't say that catholics are pagans. I don't make false claims that aren't based on facts. I truly don't want to insult or disrespect anyone. That's not the way to proclaim the good news. But when it comes to the oral traditions of men like pope Gregory VII I think it is necessary and very relevant to the discussion. Please accept my apology if I have offended you brother. You know perfectly well that I do not believe that the Church consists of a building or a place, and that is what you attempted to insinuate by what you wrote. When people say "go to church" they mean attend a public worship service with a community of believers, typically on Sunday. You know plenty well that is what I meant.We are brethren, brothers and sisters in Christ. All I'm saying is, as Scripture says, we are the Church.
Now, really, saying so should not be offensive. It's wonderful and very encouraging to remember.
