is prepping just another name for Permaculture?

Well am not a scout..but in terms of actually growing things, would prepping be similar to permaculture or does prepping still rely on industrial methods, chemicals, herbicides, etc because Permaculture is organic, its not simply farming the land the way its done now.

Also, nobody has addressed WHERE do you find this land if you actually DO NOT HAVE IT.

I think self-sufficient people would be unwise to use anything they couldn't replenish themselves. That means no chemically altered soils or treated plants. There are natural ways to do all of the things our green revolution introduced. Permaculture is definitely the way to go though. Once established, it takes care of itself, needing little human management and it can feed a community if done right. So yes, it is a form of long-term prepping.

I think best best thing to acquire in prepping is knowledge. One summer, we lived without a water heater. Man was that an eye opener! It's a lot of work to heat all the water that you need using a stove and it's backbreaking work. Learning to grow food, sewing, darning, candle making, medicine making, soap and lye making isn't quick .... we need the skills lost over the past 100+ years! All that takes time. Putting up food, making do, not wasting or throwing things out - That's the original prepping. We've gotten lazy. It's not easy to live without our modern stuff and it's gonna be impossible to learn some things after the shtf.

No permaculture is a natural way of life.
As is, I think, prepping. Our current culture and economic system is manufactured and contrary to natural living and life. It is artificial and is a many legged stool, any one of which were to fail the entire civilization would collapse and revert back to a 1830s, pre-telegraph era. It would likely not recover for decades.
