Is persecution social justice as well?

Hi there,

I've considered the same question in the past. I do believe that persecution can be a social justice issue. There would appear to be, to me at least, serveral areas where the two overlap.

Are you saying persecution issues are social justice issues but not related to "righteousness"? What does that mean?

I can think of cases in which Christians have been persecuted for righteousness sake per Matt 5. In India Christians have won prostitutes to Christ. The girls left their old work and their former masters tried to kill or harm the Christian soul winners. The exact same thing happened in the Bible too. Isn't this a case in which persecution is related to righteousness?
