CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Yeah, being single is def better than being with the wrong person; but there's a lot to be said for first impressions being wrong, too.

You guys are just joking, right? Surely you would not want a woman who was attracted to you because she thought you were married?
Here is a better idea. It's been many, many years since I went to bars, but try taking a female wingman with you. There are so many guys who are jerks/creeps and when women see you with another woman it gives some credence to your 'normalcy'. I used to have a lot of success by taking a female friend, co-worker or aquaintance along.

I think the female wingman is a good idea. You look like someone who people want to be around...and maybe she can engage some "unapproachable" in girl talk and determine if there might be some interest. A girl can also pick up on some vibes that you, as a nervous, afraid-to-get beat-down guy might miss. She might also zoom in on that girl who maybe interested but isn't hitting your radar because she is a little different than your normal "type".
Besides, you will look more fun if you are talking and laughing with someone already. Hense...the "hungry" look goes away. (PS...don't forget to come in seperate cars so that you don't have leave at the same time).

Hey...I'd have a blast being a wingman. It would be like elementary school again where you could run over to a bunch of girls and go "hey, my friend Bob thinks you're cute...what do you think of him?"
That would get me social and talking to people I'd never have a reason to say "boo" to otherwise. And I wouldn't have to worry about my love life...I'd be too busy living vicariously. (I might even get noticed because I'd be so animated when having that kind of fun).

This is no different than when I go to the store to buy one thing and walk out with several bags of things I didn't realize I needed. In my mind, I wasn't lacking anything (okay, that one thing that I came into the store for)...but overall, I was doing okay. My mindset was satisfied with what I had...but I wasn't opposed to making it better when I walked by the yummy cookies or saw a picture that would add "peace" to my bedroom.

Oh, it was a CF friend that I began to pray with and get to know better, and it just sorta happened. We are both still surprised but we are not rushing, and keeping God as our primary focus. It's in His hands.
She's amazing though, she really is.
