Point being, this board, by its rules, prohibits universally and objectively offensive avatars that could cause people to stumble directly (i.e. sexual images are prohibited), so it's down to personal judgments, and no one really has the right to enforce their weaknesses as the normative law.

I agree completely.

In most cases, if someone is offended by someone else's avatar, they would be even more offended by the person's posts. Therefore, I would recommend the ignore specific user option. :) Maybe at some future date the board software could enable ignoring single avatars or sigs. . .but those capabilities don't exist now. :)

Another good idea.

God bless

It looks like Orko from Masters of the Universe (Oops, did I just age myself?) ;) :D. Brings back some fond childhood memories.

God bless
Hahaha!

This thread has been a much needed break from my usual argumentation. Thanks everyone for making it fun and relaxing.

That black mage character looks a lot like Orko from He-Man, don't he?

I bought FF Origins for the PSOne a while back, and played it on my PS2. I was really enjoying it, but I never had the time to finish it. I hope to play through Chronicles, Anthology, and the rest in due course.

You might like the forums over at www.the-nextlevel.com if you like to discuss video games.

LOL, I've played almost all the Final Fantasy games until X (no PS2) and the online one (dialup connection that drops you with no warning equals getting killed all the time, plus I can't afford the monthly fees). I even found out a few tricks the guidebooks didn't tell you (mostly in FFVIII). :)

I'm a big fan, although not of some of the more annoying characters in the games (i.e. I wanted to slam a bar of soap in FFVII Cid's mouth, and I think of Rinoa of FFVIII as an even more annoying version of Relena from Gundam Wing. . .)

Hi there!

I read the first few responses who all seem to be saying that it is your avatar and it is your choice, but if you are asking what the Bible would say....

If it is a stumbling block to someone else, then it is wrong. If your avatar is misleading ANYONE concerning Christianity, then ditch it.

I had what I considered to be a "great" moniker based upon the defition of the word in Hebrew.... but you know what... in modern Greek it was a cuss word. I didn't know that until someone brought it to my attention.

Did I want a great "Hebrew" moniker that was a cuss word in Greek.

No.

Do you want a "great" avatar that is a stumbling block to someone else?

Your choice.

~serapha~

I guess I want to add... sometimes "it" isn't about what you intend it to be, but that it is perceived to be... that's the stumblingblock.

This, to me, is taking personal responsibility off from the sinner. Take the topic of clothing, for example. I hear Christians all of the time saying that you shouldn't dress in such a manner as to make others lust after you. While I agree that one should dress within reason of modesty, no one person has the power to make you sin. Ultimately, it is YOU and YOU ALONE who CHOOSE to sin, regardless of what you see/hear/whatever.

I guess what I am trying to say is to be careful when talking about making other stumble, because we only stumble due to our own decisions.

And to stay on topic... No... your avatar is not evil. If we were to take into consideration everything possible that might offend anyone in particular, we would be confined to cardboard boxes... wait... that might offend homeless people...

Get my point?

And you're a girl? What's your number?

Kidding, kidding.

Did you ever beat Emerald and Ruby weapons in FFVII? Beating the latter was the only way I could actually get a gold chocobo (I don't have the patience to breed).

And have you played FF Chronicles? My little brother plays it and enjoys it a lot and was wondering what your opinion on it is.

;) LOL, I'm not on the market. ;)

LOL, Emerald and Ruby Weapons were my only failures in the Final Fantasy games (unless you count not winning the Vivi racing Hipaul minigame in IX). I just didn't have the patience to build my characters to that point, and VII wasn't a favorite game. :)

However, I did come up with the way to get 20+ Holy War items and therefore defeat Omega Weapon in VIII. ^^ Also, an almost unlimited experience and Tornado magic trick. VIII was really the game in that series at which I was best.

As for FF Chronicles, I REALLY want to play it. I played the original American versions of FFIV (as FFII) and Chrono Trigger on the SNES, but I never had the money for FF Chronicles (especially since when I decided my interests were allowable for me, it was no longer for sale and was upwards of $60) but I really want it-if I had money, I'd buy it for the unedited FFIV alone-the edit that was FFII was a mess (i.e. the "spoony bard" line, the chopping up of Cecil and Rosa's dialogue to make their relationship look more pure than it was, etc.) ^^
