I doubt it.

Michael is mentioned by name in the Book of Daniel (10:13, 21; 12:1), where he is described as "one of the chief princes" and a protector of Israel.

In the NT, Michael is the only angel explicitly called an "archangel" in the Bible (Jude 1:9).

He is depicted as a warrior angel and a leader of the heavenly hosts. Re 12:

7 Now war arose in heaven, Michael and his angels fighting against the dragon. And the dragon and his angels fought back, 8 but he was defeated, and there was no longer any place for them in heaven.
I think they are two distinct persons. 1 Thessalonians 4:

16 the Lord himself shall descend from heaven, with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first.
of an archangel,
ἀρχαγγέλου (archangelou)
Noun - Genitive Masculine Singular
Strong's Greek 743: A ruler of angels, a superior angel, an archangel. From archo and aggelos; a chief angel.

In the Greek original, the definite article is not used here.

Let's see the parallelisms in 1 Thessalonians 4:16 English Standard Version

For the Lord himself will descend from heaven
[1] with a cry of command,
[2] with the voice of an archangel, and
[3] with the sound of the trumpet of God.
And the dead in Christ will rise first.

There are two parallelisms:

  1. cry || voice || trumpet-sound
  2. command || archangel || God.
There is some evidence that the Archangel is God, but the Archangel is also paralleled with God's command.

The verse alludes to Matthew 24:

30 “Then will appear the sign of the Son of Man in heaven. And then all the peoples of the earth will mourn when they see the Son of Man coming on the clouds of heaven, with power and great glory. 31 And he will send his angels with a loud trumpet call, and they will gather his elect from the four winds, from one end of the heavens to the other.
The archangel's voice will start the trumpet call to gather the elected dead in Christ.

Pulpit:

"We are to recognize three particulars, following each other in rapid succession -
[1] the commanding shout of the King himself,
[2] the voice of the archangel summoning the other angels, and
[3] the trump of God which awakens the dead and collects believers"
The archangel's voice is step #2 in this fast-paced 3-step calling sequence.

1 Thessalonians 4:16 mentions an archangel. In Matthew 24:31, the Greek word is plural: angels. I cannot conclude with 100% certainty, but I suspect the archangel is not Jesus himself. Whoever he is, he works closely with Jesus.

In the old testament, there are instances of the Lord appearing to humans in angelic form, for example with the expecting parents of Samson or the Angel of the Lord appearing to Joshua. I have thought that this was the aspect of God whereby God took bodily form.

But I have thought that Jesus, having taken on human form, was going to keep this form. So if He was going to appear in angelic form at the 2nd coming, why would his name be changed from "Jesus" to "Michael"?

I guess we will find out soon!

how about this speculation: God the Father says "now"; the commanding shout of the King himself, (Jesus) says to His general Michael "now"; the voice of the archangel (Michael) summoning the other angels with the trump that sounds out "now" ; the hosts of angels (under the command of the archangle Michael) come from one end of the heavens to the other to gather the elect out of every corner of the world; "Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord. Wherefore comfort one another with these words."

Who is this archangel? Is this Michael? Is Michael the archangel Jesus?

1 Thessalonians 4:

The only archangel named in the Bible is Michael (Jude 1:9), and some think that this is Michael.

Is Jesus the archangel, or is he just using the archangel's voice?

1 Thessalonians 4:16 mentions an archangel. In Matthew 24:31, the Greek word is plural: angels. I cannot conclude with 100% certainty, but I suspect the archangel is not Jesus himself. Whoever he is, he is doing the will of Christ.
The only one who scripture specifically calls an archangel is Michael (Jude 1:9). Maybe Gabriel is one, also, but it doesn't say that anywhere specifically. But, Michael is not Jesus. Jesus is not an angel, He is God.

Daniel 10:13 But the prince of the Persian kingdom resisted me twenty-one days. Then Michael, one of the chief princes, came to help me, because I was detained there with the king of Persia.

Jesus would not be described as just "one of the chief princes". He is The Prince of Peace, not "one of the chief princes".

The angels will be with Jesus when He comes (Matt 24:29-31, Matt 25:31-46, 2 Thess 1:7-10), so it seems that Michael will be leading them and it is his voice that will be heard when Jesus comes.

In the parable of the 10 virgins can be helpful with this question.
Verse 9:
And at midnight a cry was made "Behold, the bridegroom cometh, go ye out to meet him".
This seems to me to say Jesus isn't the one who shouts.

I love the way Zola Levitt spoke of this.
The cry was a courtesy, if you will. "She had to have just a moment...to get her feet over the edge of her bed.. to put her vail on. She's going out, she isn't married yet".
