  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

WA......YOu honestly haven't read ANY of my posts have you? I respect Mary. I do not agree with the rest of what you said about Mary...but I will agree to disagree with you. Others may of bashed her, but I haven't.

you misunderstood what I said about seeking the catholic denomination. I won't. Trust me, the Spirit is NOT compelling me to do so, I said IF I was,...and I read in OBOB, I certainly would be turned off even more.

Duly noted.

I didn't see this till I went back to that thread...

Everything I said was purely from scriptures.
Do you disagree?
And let me further show you.

The humble will be exalted.
When God says 'will be exalted' He refers to our Life in His kingdom. For we know the humble do not live exalted lives, or they would not be humble.

Furthermore, scriptures tell us she will read hearts.

Do you have a seperate understanding than the ancient Church on this?

Um, NO Mary does not and CAN not 'read' hearts. She is not God. I understand the Word of God, not catholic denomination teaching on this.

SO, as to the baptism...if a person isn't water baptized, they go to hell, doesn't matter if they know Jesus or not..is that what you are saying to me?? What an unmerciful God that would be then.

Interesting, so you disagree with scriptures?

you quoted nothing that resembles scripture,,,or what it says...NO, I do NOT disagree at all. NO where does it say Mary can read hearts...ONLY the Holy Spirit does that.

Where is it written that Mary can read hearts? For only Christ can do this..

Yeah. Only God can hear our thoughts, prayers and know our hearts. I could say anything I wanted about anyone who was dead and they'd never know about it.

I just can't believe she is attributing Jesus and the Holy Spirit's attributes to Mary! Makes NO sense.

Luke 2

25 And behold there was a man in Jerusalem named Simeon, and this man was just and devout, waiting for the consolation of Israel; and the Holy Ghost was in him.

26 And he had received an answer from the Holy Ghost, that he should not see death, before he had seen the Christ of the Lord. 27 And he came by the Spirit into the temple. And when his parents brought in the child Jesus, to do for him according to the custom of the law, 28 He also took him into his arms, and blessed God, and said: 29 Now thou dost dismiss thy servant, O Lord, according to thy word in peace; 30 Because my eyes have seen thy salvation, 31 Which thou hast prepared before the face of all peoples: 32 A light to the revelation of the Gentiles, and the glory of thy people Israel. 33 And his father and mother were wondering at those things which were spoken concerning him. 34 And Simeon blessed them, and said to Mary his mother: Behold this child is set for the fall, and for the resurrection of many in Israel, and for a sign which shall be contradicted; 35 And thy own soul a sword shall pierce, that, out of many hearts, thoughts may be revealed.

The Holy Spirit told Simon that Mary was going to read hearts.

God Bless.

UUHHH where did you get what you stated from that scripture?? This is absurd.. He was saying that her soul would be pierced. and out of many hearts thoughts would be revealed..Luke 2
26It had been revealed to him by the Holy Spirit that he would not die before he had seen the Lord's Christ. 27Moved by the Spirit, he went into the temple courts. When the parents brought in the child Jesus to do for him what the custom of the Law required, 28Simeon took him in his arms and praised God, saying:
29"Sovereign Lord, as you have promised,
you now dismiss your servant in peace.
30For my eyes have seen your salvation,
31which you have prepared in the sight of all people,
32a light for revelation to the Gentiles
and for glory to your people Israel."

33The child's father and mother marveled at what was said about him. 34Then Simeon blessed them and said to Mary, his mother: "This child is destined to cause the falling and rising of many in Israel, and to be a sign that will be spoken against, 35so that the thoughts of many hearts will be revealed. And a sword will pierce your own soul too." 36There was also a prophetess, Anna, the daughter of Phanuel, of the tribe of Asher. She was very old; she had lived with her husband seven years after her marriage, 37and then was a widow until she was eighty-four.[e] She never left the temple but worshiped night and day, fasting and praying. 38Coming up to them at that very moment, she gave thanks to God and spoke about the child to all who were looking forward to the redemption of Jerusalem.

And thy own soul = her SOUL...not that she CAN read hearts...the rest of that statments rings of...out of the heart, the mouth speaks. NOTHING about Mary reading ANYONES heart there.

Absolutely nothing you said is in scriptures...
OUT OF the hearts, thoughts will be revealed.

No mention of mouths, nor speaking...

Reread it.

When Christ was crucified many thoughts were revealed.. Some said was this indeed whom the prophets spoke about? Read about the thoughts of many hearts at His death... This is not about Mary at all.. The NT is about Christ.. NOT Mary..

W.A. can you please answer this for me?

Where is it in the Bible that says that Mary hears our thoughts and prayers and intercedes for us. I want the scripture that acutually says Mary can read our hearts, hear our prayers and intercededs for us? What scripture can I look up to see for myself and what scripture do you base this on?

No, you are implying he refers back to Jesus.
He doesnt.
He speaks to her about what she will suffer, and obtain ...

Sword will pierce THAT out of many hearts, thoughts will be obtained.

AND furthermore, it is not through Christ's death that hearts are read...for He reads hearts throughout the scriptures.

How does He admonish?
How does He tell the woman at the well she has seven husbands??

No, you refuse to see scriptures there.

This is taken from direct translation of the Latin.
Which is directly translated from Greek by St Jerome.

Todays modern revisionists may imply something different if read out of context...such as the above which changes the passage altogether...

BUT THY OWN SOUL...is regarding MARY alone....and out of the hearts of many...THOUGHTS will be revealed.

This is a gift of grace, and great sorrow.

Reading the hearts of those who despise the Lord is the sword that pierces her heart and soul.

Mary cannot read the hearts of men..You take this scripture and twist it around Mary..Go to the death of Christ and read what happens there.. Read the thoughts of many after His death.. Mary's heart was pierced.. Her beloved Son hanging on a cross dying for the sins of Man Kind..Even for her own.. That would be enough to peirce any mothers heart.
