I have not posted here before, but I was wondering if it was wrong to laugh? Personally I don't find the pic offensive and laughed at it. What is your reaction to this pic? Is it just funny or do you find it offensive? In other words, is it much ado about nothing or is it disrespectful? It looks to me that Jesus wanted to punch one of the money changers. It is obvious that Jesus did it. In other words, how should a believer deal with people who make you so angry? I wonder how His humanity dealt with the Pharisees and the money changers?

I find the caption somewhat offensive, only that it has Jesus saying something out of character.

Not that he didn't refer to the Pharisees as 'snakes' on occasion. Not to mention the Old Testament passages where the Lord characterized the Israelite nation as 'stiff-necked' - which could be reasonable paraphrased as 'hard-headed nincompoops'.

I find the cartoon fairly humorous in all. I would probably have the caption read, "I can explain it in greater detail, if you like", but it's still humorous.

It's also a bit of an eye-opener as the painting does not portray Jesus as a pale, wimpy, 'blow away in a stiff breeze', pacifist sort. He worked as a carpenter most of his life. No power tools, either. So He was probably rather physically fit. The Bible does not record if blows were struck; but He carried a small whip of some sort - AND all the money changers and livestock vendors left abruptly. I get the feeling most of them didn't want to find out how serious Jesus really was.

By the way, this passage shows Jesus' patience and mercy. I'd have called down lightening.
