Is it wrong to ask for prayer requests?

Yes, that verse is about material things

Gal 6:2 says to "Bear ye one another's burdens..."

posted: states that we SHOULD pray for one another but it doesn't say we should ask. As already posted: James 5:14 "Is any sick among you? let him call for the elders of the church; and let them pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord:"

Sometimes the only way to know to pray for someone in particular is for them to ask. What if a close friend or relative needed prayer, would you ask for prayer for them?

Please clarify - just asking if this is what you mean = you believe that Yahweh will met everyone's needs so there's no need to pray for anyone? Or you pray for everyone at one time with no special requests for any one in particular? Or ?

What's your interpretation about the verse that says "Pray without ceasing?"

In Acts 9 Ananias was sent by Yahweh to lay his hands on Paul and his blindness would be healed. Plus Paul knew that he was coming to pray for him.

Don't get me wrong - I understand - we wonder why would Yahweh want us to pray, witness, help anyone, etc. Why doesn't He just do things solely on His own? In the Acts 9 account, why didn't Yahweh just heal Paul without Ananias? Is that what you mean? I'm just trying to understand.

Ok, let's look at the Lord's Prayer:

Give us today our daily bread.
Forgive us our sins,
as we forgive those who sin against us.
Lead us not into temptation,
but deliver us from evil.

Although this section of it is about others, it's also about us as individuals. Or that's the way I see it. What about you though?

It makes me feel as though my beliefs/prayers aren't strong enough...

I'd love to see scriptural back up for the practice of requesting prayer; thank you.

RESOLVED <---thank you!

wow, your question genuinely surprised me. We ARE to pray for one another, BIG TIME, and intercede on each other's behalf. it's one of the many ways we minister to one another and support each other as sisters and brothers in Christ and children of the Most High God.

here's a verse or two;

Therefore, confess your sins to one another and pray for one another, that you may be healed. The prayer of a righteous person has great power as it is working. ~James 5:16

And so, from the day we heard, we have not ceased to pray for you, asking that you may be filled with the knowledge of his will in all spiritual wisdom and understanding, ~Colossians 1:9
