the flood was global

men died

family survived

you will find every time you doubt it, you feel sick and have to change your mind, I do.

LOL! I wish this was the case with everyone.

I do think though, that abundant blessings follow trusting God's word, even when it contradicts man's ideas.

But i want to know, is it wrong, especially as a christian, to believe in this idea?

You mean Noah spent 120 years building an Ark to survive a local flood that he could have walked away from in a few days?

You know, sometimes God commands people to do things that are not entirely necessary, but are done to make some sort of point.

I think this man makes a good point in the

"Why didn't God send Noah on a Long Road Trip" section

on

The Genesis Flood: Why the Bible Says It Must be Local

You may want to read it.

Because it sure doesn't explain how millions and millions of species, even if there is only 2 of each type, could fit onto the ark,
If they could fit in the ark or not, the question is how did they get to the ark and then back to the individual islands and locations that they came from. How long would it take for Noah's ark to go from the north pole to the south pole only being driven by the wind.

The ark was designed to save the whole ecosystem. Real or not the ark is very symbolic. It is amazing that everyone misses out on the idea that just putting them on an Ark like that makes them domestic and no longer wild. It is the domestic plants and animals that Noah put on the Ark. It was at that point in time that farming spread to Europe from the Middle East. Because people were able to take it with them.
