As with alcohol, I think its a personal thing between you and Adonai.
The amount of wine Yeshua made at the wedding was a STAGGERING amount of wine. The ceremonial washing jars held between 20-60 gallons of water each. Even if you use the smaller size you are talking about 120 gallons of wine. 1 bottle of wine=750ml which equals 605 bottles of wine, or 50 cases of wine. And NO contrary to the absolutely SILLY assertion that it was watered down, it is easy to prove that it was PURE WINE.
The Steward makes an observation that the best wine was saved for last. Wine dulls the pallet which is why you always serve the best wine first (again the steward states as much.) If you dilute the best wine in the world with water and you take the cheapest wine in the world and dilute it with water, you CAN NOT tell any difference between the two. Additionally, diluted wine does NOT dull the pallet.
When Josephs brothers were in Egypt and he revealed who he was and his brothers wept for joy over him. It says "They made merry." Gen 43.43 Portions were taken to them from Joseph’s table, but Benjamin’s portion was five times as much as any of theirs. And they drank and were merry with him.
The last sentence means they got drunk together. Several translations Including the NASB use the term DRANK FREELY Several others use the term drunk.
