Is it wrong for a Christian to listen to secular music?

Just because I want it to be said one more time:

There is nothing wrong with secular music.

You will be who you will be in spite of what you listen to. Listening to Christian music will not make you a Christian. Listening to secular music will not make you a non-Christian.

There is music that is very negative - promoting promiscuity, violence, etc. If it is an "anti-Christian" message it is not constructive, so why bother with it?

yeah i agree with a lot of these posts. Lots of "secular" bands have actually Christians that are in the band. We must look at the spirit behind the band and songwriter to determine if we should listen to that particular band i feel =)

It all depends on what it is, garbage in garbage out. If it's positive and encourages you I say go for it but if it glorifies sex or things of the world it's not of God. that's my view
