  • Continue to run

  • Not sure at this point

Donald Trump feels blessed because he beat the great American tax system.... What if every American strove the same way?
Frankly if every American took the risk of running their own business we would be in better shape.

No, many businesses fail miserably (especially in competitive markets, like restaurants). If every American did that, many would lose their homes since they'd have no other collateral for loans.

No, you missed that Trump said he is no longer the man today that he was then. BIG difference.
Oh yeah, the last ten years were the formative ones of his life.

So, after the latest revelation is it time for Donald to bow out? Why or why not? Please let's be adults about this; no polemics which is the reason I posted this here instead of News and Curent Events. Just state your reason for or against based on what you feel fairly certain to be true.

I hate what Trump has done. With even more rotten se tapes out today, I am sick. He has done more to damage the Republican ticket than anyone could. Dam his lies. I feel he should let his Vice pick take over. Shame on him. I am disgusted with Trump. look how he made fun of the others running for office! Shame on HIM I am so ashamed of Trump. He is a real filthy dirty boy who never grew up. Spoiled brat with lots of money, he buys his way to all kinds of things. I an so hurt by this stupid nasty womanizer.

I was educated as an accountant. The first day of my tax accounting class we were handed a form with about 1/4 the page filled...it represented the very first tax return and we were also given a quote by a member sponsoring/enacting it...name escapes me...quote, I'll paraphrase, It is every man's duty to pay the least amount of tax possible.
That is the principle or rather was the principle of taxation.
My how things have changed!!! Trending toward socialism.
A good, robust economy is backed by many diverse healthy businesses (I was a business owner) and businesses are an arm of the common man. They offer jobs and pay benefits and the lion's share of the employees' social security, state and federal unemployment taxes. To tax a business is to take dollars from the common man...it's just so easy for a government to do because they have re-defined businesses and the taxes are quite invisible to the employees. I could go on but won't here.
Point is Trump did right to minimize taxes...it rewards himself and is beneficial to his employees. When we sold our business government taxes took a whopping half. We struggled for years keeping our money in the business to grow it and hire needed employees...at reward time government (IRS) held it's big demanding hand out. I couldn't believe it to be legal quite frankly...not at that level. I believe in so doing we were being treated as scum!

What are the basic tenets of Christianity? Taking leave of those principles?
You mean Trump? He said himself he never asks for God's forgiveness or mercy. This is not a man who has come humbly in contrition, like the Publican, this is the man who has come boasting and narcissistic, like the Pharisee.

And yet, he was contrite and it was 11 years ago. And Bill Clinton was bad and remains so if you believe Colin Powell. And Hillary is much worse being what she did in not upholding the law as SoS.

It's basic "gument werk". You're Secretary of State. You read the contract, having been a law professor, that you agreed to uphold all the laws while in that position that you were appointed to by Barack Obama. And low and behold you're identified as unsophisticated and careless in doing your job ?

And she wants another government job entailing more responsibility and with greater power? When in her lesser offices of power she gave people perks if they gave the Clinton foundation money?

It seems you and I have a different definition of "contrite". I don't see him as having been contrite, but rather he mustered up as much appearance of humility as he could muster (which wasn't much) for the sake of political expediency.

I'm in no way suggesting that there is anything morally decent about the Clinton family. In fact, the very reason I'd like to see Trump step down is so that voters of faith can have an opportunity to vote for someone who is not morally repugnant. I would vote for Pence or just about any other serious Republican candidate if it means that I don't have to choose between Hillary and Donald. If the election were held today, I think I'd be morally compelled to abstain from voting for President. And, I hate that.

You are being punished for being successful rather than depending on the gov't. to take of of you; makes you a person with dangerous ideas......

Christians come in all sorts of shapes and soilings...repentance is needed but you are wrong from what I gathered in the news...Trump said the ONLY TIME he repented to the Lord was when he took the bread and wine.
Remember, we are not voting for our priest or pastor...we are voting for a national leader. Jimmy Carter may have had good character, but his judgment was very flawed...better in my view had he become a missionary.

I see nothing in his present persona to suggest that he is a different person. If you do, then great. But, I believe that he lacks the integrity to be POTUS (as does Hillary). I believe that God has given the American people what we have sought after through our depravity: an election where no matter who wins, the next President will be an affront to all things godly and upright to an extent that we have not seen in a long time. I pray that God will provide a third option, and if Donald were to step down, that might clear the way. But, in the end, no matter what happens, God is sovereign, and God has used even evil kings to execute his will.

Only in the sense of the definition of "guilt" in Ambrose Bierce's The Devil's Dictionary

"guilt
, n. The condition of one who is known to have committed an indiscretion, as distinguished from the state of him who has covered his tracks."

Trump is not a Christian in any reasonable sense, come on now.

You have to have some semblance of morality to be President. Trump has so far shown to have absolutely no shred of morality, he can't even fake morality, he won't even deign to do that. To have a morally bankrupt President is frightening enough; to have someone as President who sees that he doesn't even need to pretend to have morality to be President, is even worse.

Unfortunately too many banks make the failure happen.

Know several Veterans who started their own business. Two I know personally have done quite well over the past 10 years. Both wanted to expand their business but were denied the loan. Why? Because the bank told them most small businesses are either sold off or fail within 10 years.

Indeed God does use an evil man at times to accomplish His will...I had already made that point. But to say you know the current condition of this man's heart I believe is wrong. I have been testifying for a long time now to just such ones and it takes some Christians a long while before they learn how to walk a straight road. Just as a alcoholic can repent and feel new life only to succumb to the habit...many failures before success...so it is with other sinners who need to get their nose in the Bible and try to walk the walk seriously. Trump reminds me of one such man. Remember too that he is known to have been a very benevolent man.
I also remind that the President of the US does not single-handedly run the government. Let us pray that should he win that he appoint good men knowledgeable and wise as leaders who seek justice and peace.
