I finished every level Legendary. The hardest enemies I have encountered where not the Hunters...no... but the Yellow Elite units with the swords! The best way to take em out to throw a sticky plasma grenade on them but you have be really quick about it and have a good aim.
For the Maw, deffinately the hardest part of the level is in the caffeteria, it's loaded with elites and theres not much room to move around in. What I did was back track and load up on shotgun and plasma rifle ammo. Best bet to use the plasma rifle in short controlled bursts. I'd dash in there and go for the corner of a wall but be prepared to move because the elites will toss a plama grenade to fish you out. If your lucky the AI might throw a plama on one of their team mates by accident. Killing all the Elites in the room does not call for victory yet. Just out the next door there are afew grunts armed with a gas powered plama gun, one shot and your dead. Heave a marine grenade in there to finish up the job.
Now for that driving part. It's pretty much the same on normal mode. Just have good driving skills. When you reach the Foe Hammer drop point where Cortana tells you to stop, DO NOT STOP keep going, you'll save alot of time by ignoring her commands cause you gotta drive another kilometer anyways.
