But my statement was about the ten commandments delivered in ancient times long before Jesus' earthly presence. It seems to me that by changing what I said you've embellished it with anachronistic ideas.
I don't believe that explaining the 10 commandments is embellishing them, but if you do, OK.

Many people would rather it says this,
"And this is the will of him who sent me, that I shall lose none of all those who have chosen me, but raise them up at the last day." John 6:39
Amen! It's by His grace, not our works.

That's some avatar you have there.
I gave me a good giggle.
Because you're responding to a calvinist and agreeing with him.

By his beliefs, if 5 men were drowing, Jesus would decide which 2 to save and let the other 3 drown. Jesus would NOT save all 5.

I hope you know this.

I don't understand the above and it doesn't matter.
But every book in the N.T. was written to believers.

You don't understand 1 John 3:5-9???

Think about it. If you are cleansed of all sin, are you still a sinner?

Yep, God's Grace is awesome power to overcome:

Revelation 14:12 KJB - Here is the patience of the saints: here are they that keep the commandments of God, and the faith of Jesus.

God shows in His word, that there are to be such people.

Revelation 3:21 KJB - To him that overcometh will I grant to sit with me in my throne, even as I also overcame, and am set down with my Father in his throne.

That's why Jesus is Israel [overcomer with God]; Matthew 2:13-15; Hosea 11:1; and thus his children/disciples are to be like Him; Hebrews 2:9-13; Isaiah 8:8-20, which is why Jesus says what He says in John 14:15 and in Exodus 20:6 KJB.

So you're saying, as a Catholic, that we are not required to follow the 10 commandments???
If you read what I have written you haven't seen anything that says it's okay to do those things.

No where have I gave the indication that it was okay to do any of the things which God bans in the 10, but the 10 is part of the Law which brings death.

We cannot please God through trying to obey the Law. That cuts out the sacrifice.

The way to please God is to embrace the cross. The law has no power over those live by the power of God's Spirit. Stop worrying about obeying any of the law and surrender to the HS and allow that Spirit to lead us in obedience to Jesus' commandment to love.

A person who loves through the Spirit has no thoughts of murder, stealing, lying, committing adultery, etc. In this, it is the HS who has done all.

The Sabbath Day is NOT for any believer in New Testament times. The Lord's Day is for Christians which is the First Day Sunday

Show me where it says that...

I do agree with the above.
The Sabbath commandment has always confused me, however.
It IS one of the 10 commandments which God specifically gave to us who believe in God, but it's a ceremonial law and the ceremonial law has been abolished...

How is it a ceremonial law, it was instituted at Creation before the fall, same as marriage

are Christians required to keep the Fourth Commandment? If so, please show where in the New Testament this is taught?
Sabbath keeping with all it's rules and regulations, was part of a covenant with Israel (Exodus 16:23, 29; 31:12-18; 35:1-3; Leviticus 19:30; 23:2-3, 32; Numbers 15:32-36; 28:1-10; 29:39-40; I Chronicles. 23:30-31; II Chronicles 31:2-4; Isaiah 1:13; Amos 8:5; Nehemiah 10:31) that is not binding on Christians under the New Covenant.

*Colossians 2:16 - Therefore no one is to act as your judge in regard to food or drink or in respect to a festival or a new moon or a Sabbath day 17 things which are a mere shadow of what is to come; but the substance belongs to Christ.

References for principles of 9 of the 10 commandments are reiterated under the New Covenant, yet the command to keep the Sabbath day is not binding on Christians under the New Covenant.

1. You shall have no other gods before Me. - Acts 14:15
2. You shall make no idols. - 1 John 5:21
3. You shall not take the name of the Lord your God in vain. - James 5:12
4. Keep the Sabbath day holy. - Not binding on the Church - Colossians 2:16-17
5. Honor your father and your mother. - Ephesians 6:1-2
6. You shall not murder. - Romans 13:9-10; 1 John 3:15
7. You shall not commit adultery. - Romans 13:9-10; 1 Corinthians 6:9-10
8. You shall not steal. - Romans 13:9-10; Ephesians 4:28
9. You shall not bear false witness against your neighbor. - Romans 13:9-10; Colossians 3:9-10
10. You shall not covet. - Romans 13:9-10; Ephesians 5:3

Yes they are! Yeshua said that Sabbath was made for MAN...He did not say Jews. WHY don't you harm another person?
