Is It Okay To Watch Ghost Adventures?

Since I brought this up in another topic I was curious what everyone thought of this. I purely watch it for entertainment purposes only and I am not remotely interested in dealing with paranormal and demonic entities,.. I just like to be scared. Especially around Halloween. So I think it's okay, but that's just my opinion. I like other paranormal shows too and this paranormal YouTuber also hits my interest. I also wouldn't want to do anything that would be sinful though.

I don't see a problem. Just because you watch the program for entertainment purposes doesn't mean you think ghosts are necessarily real, much less endorse or engage in sorcery.

Oh and I hope I put this in the right place btw. To be honest I sort of am more of a believer than I was before,.. but I watch Harry Potter and I don't go around trying to fly on a broomstick and I certainly would never get involved in paranormal things for real.

I used to love those shows. But a few years back, I discovered that when I watch these, I tend to have a 'weakened' spirit. Easily tripped up by the evil one and his hordes. When I stay clear of those flics, then the evil one has to use one of the other many weak points that I have.
But, that is me. You should talk to the Father about it.

You may want to consider why you needed to ask the question to begin with. Were you thinking maybe this is something I should not watch? What made this an issue for you? Answering those questions may provide much more insight than what any of us could.

Paranormal Witness is a good one, a lot of episodes too, 5 seasons. I got the chills several times!

To be honest I sort of am more of a believer than I was before,..

No I don’t. I prefer not to do anything real (or is that code language for I’m too much of a wimp to do anything real lol) like visit supposed haunted locations, but I’ve known a couple people who are surprisingly skeptical of everything who said a few things happened that freaked them out! I’m not too moved by people who tend to get scared of everything, but specifically two people I know were very skeptical of anything paranormal. Both people were also referring to the same place in Florida, I forget exactly where though I would have to ask.

No clue what Ghost Adventures is, but from the sound of it it's another one of those Ghost Hunters like shows where people go into places, bring out some wacky technogizmos and then the producers of the show add sound effects in post production to make it seem all spoooky.

I mean, yeah nothing wrong with watching those sorts of shows. They're ridiculous. I personally can't watch them because I find them really silly, it's the same reason I can't watch Ancient Aliens, it's just the most absurd load of nonsense ever. But that's just preference and not wanting to get angry at the guy with funny hair saying aliens had to use lasers to make mud bricks, because humans making mud bricks too hard, even though we've been doing it for thousands of years.

I think the most interesting part of Ancient Aliens isn’t even the alien speculation, but just how fascinating the technology was so so long ago! A lot of the structures don’t even make sense unless they had impressive technology back then!

I generally whatever I want until I often ease into not watching them anymore.

I'm assuming this is a completely faked show, and those were one of the first to go on my list. I asked myself do you like being lied to, even if it is just for fun? It made no sense.

Don't get me wrong, I'm not jumping on my high horse here, I waste plenty of time with mindless movies/videos, and after all what you are watching is a kin to a made up story, something most all movies are made of...sort a.

Well I've been to a few haunted locations in my area and I only had experiences at one where I thought that I heard whispers and I felt certain rooms really dense and like I was being watched. Anyways, this is for anybody who doesn't know what I'm talking about. (I didn't see anything in the rules about this not being allowed and I do believe all the cussing is bleeped.)

Seriously as we differ greatly some people are fine watching things with a "spiritual" content while others are not fine. Some can be enticed to delve into deeper spiritual things to the point of abandoning God for them and they start at simple things such as horoscopes and deeper into astrology, ghost stories and some demonic forms of horror and so on can as others have said weaken our spirit or you could also say entice us towards the supernatural that is NOT of God. I played Dungeons and Dragons for decades and it didn't cause me any problems but finally got rid of it because I realized that one problem that it did cause me was hanging around people who were almost anti-God and the closer I got to God the more I found hanging around these people was less interesting. I enjoy fantasy still but realize that God is my reality in the end, fantasy to me is a temporary disconnect from reality that also helps disconnect from stress.
Ghost stories as long as you don't feel they are a reality you want to explore are just fantasy but many mistake fantasy for reality and then they end up in a mess. I don't blindly recommend any Christian doing anything as some of us are more apt to be deceived and dragged into trouble than others by temptation.
