In Islam, the Mahdi or the 12th Imam that means the guided one is the long-awaited Saviour. He is the establisher of the final caliphate. The world must follow him as he takes over or he will destroy all enemies of Islam. He will come and he will carry on holy war and either you convert or you're killed by the Mahdi. He will have an army, his army will be a massive army and his army will go from nation to nation to punish the unbelievers the holy writings of Islam. This army will carry black flags and on those black flags there'll be one word and that one word will be the word punishment by the way the Iranian army today carries black flags they want to be ready for the coming of the Mahdi. He will lead the army of black flags first to Israel slaughter all the Jews and then he will establish his rule in Jerusalem on the Temple Mount, that's what their literature says: slaughter the Jews establish his rule on the Temple Mount. According to their holy writings, the Mahdi will bring rain and wind and crops and wealth and happiness so that all will love him and no one will speak of anyone but him. Their writing say the Mahdi will come and make at first a peace agreement with the Jews
and the West for seven years the reign of Mahdi lasts seven years in which he establishes Islam on the earth their holy writings say this the Mahdi will come riding on a white horse .

When the Mahdi arrives, he will discover hidden scripture, he will discover them interestingly enough somewhere near the Sea of Galilee, and there will be there hidden scriptures hidden Gospels and a hidden Torah and they will be the true scriptures which will be used by the Mahdi to show the Jews and the Christians they were wrong that their scriptures were the false scriptures. The Mahdi will be a messianic figure, he will be a descendant of Muhammad, he will be an unparalleled unequalled leader, he will come out of a crisis of turmoil, he will take control of the world, he will establish a new world order, he will destroy all who resist him, he will invade many nations, he will make a seven-year peace treaty with the Jews he will conquer Israel and Massacre the Jews. He will establish Islamic world headquarters at Jerusalem. He will rule for seven years established Islam is the only religion. He will come on a white horse with supernatural power. He will be loved by all people on earth. If that sounds familiar that is a precise description of the biblical Antichrist absolutely step by step by step by step. The Bible's Antichrist is Islam's Mahdi.

They are many antichrists, but I am talking about the Antichrist. He is the man of lawlessness from 2 Thessalonians 2 3 'Don’t let anyone deceive you in any way, for that day will not come until the rebellion occurs and the man of lawlessness is revealed, the man doomed to destruction. 4 He will oppose and will exalt himself over everything that is called God or is worshiped, so that he sets himself up in God’s temple, proclaiming himself to be God.'

7 For the secret power of lawlessness is already at work; but the one who now holds it back will continue to do so till he is taken out of the way. 8 And then the lawless one will be revealed, whom the Lord Jesus will overthrow with the breath of his mouth and destroy by the splendor of his coming. 9 The coming of the lawless one will be in accordance with how Satan works. He will use all sorts of displays of power through signs and wonders that serve the lie, 10 and all the ways that wickedness deceives those who are perishing. They perish because they refused to love the truth and so be saved. - This the one I am talking about.

There is no " The Antichrist ". You will not find it in scripture. There are many who are lawless. First century anti Christs includes the 666 individual which is most likely Nero but there is no one who will take that position today as it has already passed away in the first century with the destruction of Jerusalem . Blessings

But 2 Thessalonians speaks of the Lawless ONE. He is also known as the 'little horn' in Daniel 7, and 'the Beast' in revelation 13.

There is no " The Antichrist
While it is true the term 'the Antichrist' is not in the Bible., so is term 'trinity' not in the Bible, but we still us it. The Antichrist is referred to as 'the Lawless One' or 'the Man of Sin.' The Antichrist's characteristics: rebellious, exalts himself, declares himself to be God, works with Satan, and agent of deception.

What makes you believe that?
Here is why:
1) The first line of Revelation says this:
"The Revelation of Jesus Christ, which God gave Him to show His servants—things which must shortly take place." Key words " shortly take place"
2) Jesus Christ of Nazareth said that His generation will see the end of Jerusalem.
3) The number 666 corresponds to Nero.
4) Dispensational Futurism is a false teaching.
Shall I continue or maybe you will be willing to research the alternative view?

1. Revelation was written in year 95, Nero died in year 68

2. The book of Revelation puts the defeat of the Antichrist near the end of the prophetic calendar. In the book of Revelation, the Antichrist is defeated at the second coming of Jesus Christ and cast into the lake of fire shortly before the establishment of the millennial reign of Christ (Revelation 19:11—20:6). The only way to make Nero fit as the Antichrist is to allegorize the second coming and the millennium and to remove any semblance of chronology from much of the book of Revelation. That is not the proper way to understand the book of revelation.

3. The book of revelation does not say how number 666 identifies the Antichrist.

" Key words " shortly take place"
Let me remind you that God exists outside of time.
Let me remind you also of revelation 22 7 “And behold, I am coming soon. Blessed is the one who keeps the words of the prophecy of this book.”
Soon...and yet it's been almost 2000 years.

Ivan, if you are going by John MacArthur, he apparently doesn't understand that Islam will basically end when the muslims nations in Ezekiel 38 take part in the Gog/Magog event and their armies are destroyed - right BEFORE the 7 year 70th week of Daniel 9:27 begins.

In Ezekiel 39, Gog/Magog. Then in verses 9-10 the 7 years. Then in verses 17-20 Armageddon. Then in verses 21-29, Jesus Himself speaking in the text having returned to this earth.

So no Mahdi and his army figure follow the Ezekiel 38/39 Gog/Magog event. The Antichrist comes from Europe, will be a Jew, and his religion Judaism into order for the Jews to mistakenly think he is their long awaited messiah.

John MacArthur is way off base. He doesn't understand that the Antichrist in the role of being the Antichrist is perceived by the Jews as being their King of Israel messiah. In the role of being the Antichrist, anointed King of Israel by the false prophet (posing as Elijah), he will confirm the Mt. Sinai covenant for 7 years as required by Moses in Deuteronomy 31:-13.

John MacArthur compares Isa (the Muslim Jesus) to the false prophet of Revelation 13. But John MacArthur does not recognize in Revelation 13 that the false prophet calls fire down from heaven - like Elijah, not Jesus, did. John MacArthur makes the unwarranted statement that the Muslim Isa is an exact parallel to the false prophet - which has no basis.

There is no biblical personality to fit Muslim scenario that plays the role of the "dajjal" , who will ride across the middle east riding a big white mule, at incredible speed (Muslim claims), with one bulging eye like a grape, and has the name "kaffur" on his forehead, and to look at him, one becomes one of his followers. It is all made up stuff coming from Muslims and their haddith, that will never transpire.

None of the Muslim end time scenario will ever come to pass. John MacArthur is totally wrong as to what will really happen.

Ivan, the Muslim Mahdi never claims to be God in their eschatology and theology.

I could be wrong but the last time I looked up Islamic eschatology , the Mahdi along with Isa ( Jesus ) show up but are only two prophets.
The Jews are also looking for two prophets to show up as is also the christians.
And our bible which is the only real truth doesn't seem to show that any of these prophets is going to be the beast or claim himself to be God.

Where does it say that Islam will be destroyed in Ezekiel 38? The nations in Ezekiel 38 are Iran, Sudan, Libya, Turkey and Russia. So not all Muslim nations. Furthermore, the kingdom of the Antichrist will be like the Roman empire. 60% of the Roman Empire are today Muslim countries.

The Antichrist comes from Europe, will be a Jew,
I also used to think that, but now I am not sure.

The Antichrist is a mystery, but we Christians do not have to be worried about him. Your interpretation can be right, John MacArthur's might be wrong, nevertheless this Mahdi resembles the Antichrist too much (in my eyes) that it cannot be a coincidence (to me). I thought the points by John MacArthur were interesting so I posted the video here, to have a discussion.

Dispensational Futurism is a false teaching.
For me preterism is a false teaching. You are forced to allegorise or symbolise many of the chapters. The book of revelation is literal. Yes, it has symbolism, but when there is symbolism, the book shows that i.e. Revelation 12:1 And a great sign appeared in heaven: a woman clothed with the sun, with the moon under her feet, and on her head a crown of twelve stars.

I do believe revelation chapters 2 & 3 are the age of the Church, that ends in beginning of chapter 4, and then almost until the end, we have the 7 years of tribulation described, and we can see what is parallelly happening in Heaven and what is happening on Earth.

When Christians disagree, we all think we have the correct interpretation, don't we? I can be of course wrong about the futurism, and I know if I'm right about eschatology, it's only because God revealed it to me (no, not because I am better, because I am just a filthy sinner who should be in hell now)
