Is Incest a sin?

By the way, incest wasn't a sin before Sinai. For instance, Abraham married his half-sister, Sarah (Genesis 20:11-13). Amram married his father's sister and begot Aaron and Moses (Exodus 6:20).

Very interesting question. Other people should answer this because I don't believe that because a law was given in the old testament that automatically means its under the old covenant. But for those who believe that, its a very interesting question.

But concerning the incest that happened before. The reason for it was because it was important for them to marry people of the same faith which at that time was very hard to do. Abraham started of as one of the very few God fearing people on the earth. Isaac had to marry his cousin. But as the choices became greater incest got decreased to the point where they is no need for it.

What does your heart tell you? Odd that so many think something must be written down on paper or stone to be true.
So for what it's worth: I would not advise you to sleep with your sister. That's just plain old gross.

I think this is just a really difficult question to answer. It can be argued that people don't do it because legally its not right. But still, whether or not its a sin is an open question since the New Testament does not speak about this at all.

Yes and we also know it was not a sin prior to that point.
And now God has written it upon our heart. But i remember you don't trust that so away with that.

Now we are under those above us in the Church. Even told to submit unto them. What does the church say concerning this matter? Better yet: Does the Church teach us to obey as secular social laws except when they defy God intentions?
We call it sin because it breaks mans law. We call it sin because the schoolmaster (the Law) shows it to be against the ways of God for a healthy family. we call it a sin as we have the ability to know good and evil. And last but not least: WE call it a sin because it's having sex with one's sister

I assure you long before I finally decided to read the Bible, i knew that having sex with my sister was wrong. No one had to tell me to stop doing that or even had to tell me it was wrong. I was not born a monkey. i was born a human with the ability to discern right and wrong. On little matters I may be unsure but I know the proper way to love my blood sister.

I actually have a very attractive sister. When we were young, all my friends desired her. (This is how God equips us) but oddly as a young man I could not see what they saw. Odd as the other girls they saw as attractive I did too.
When something seems creepy to your conscience, take heed.
