  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Its not an interpretation of Genesis, its what it says in Joshua. Joshua 21 clearly says that God made good on his promise and gave the Jews the land.

If he said forever, but it turned out to be not forever, God cannot have made good on his promise in Genesis 13:15, at Joshua 21.

Exactly, and it turned out to not be, because they left and Arabs lived there after Joshua 21, so it must have been revoked after Christ.

So God did not mean forever in Genesis 13:15? He lied to Abraham?

That is not authentication, as Joshua is likely an allegorical figure representing Jews. The scriptures refer to things we know from history / science / archaeology did not happen (as even Rabbis admit) such as the Exodus, or Noah's fictional Ark, so that cannot be used as literal history all the time.

You are still failing to grasp the main point, only Joshua 21 refers to a fulfillment of a promise, none of the other books do.

That is just idiotic. Joshua was a real person. And yes, alignment of other Bible Scripture with Scripture in Joshua DOES... prove the Book of Joshua as authentic. Why else do you think the Book of Joshua was included in the Canon, and even in the Pentateuch?

What you say just isn't to be trusted.

If you say so.

43 So the Lord gave Israel all the land he had sworn to give their ancestors, and they took possession of it and settled there. 44 The Lord gave them rest on every side, just as he had sworn to their ancestors. Not one of their enemies withstood them; the Lord gave all their enemies into their hands. 45 Not one of all the Lord’s good promises to Israel failed; every one was fulfilled.

What does that say?

What's idiotic is ignoring what Joshua 21 says. It clearly says that God gave Israel all the land he had sworn, and that all of the Lord's promises were fulfilled. Ezekiel's verses do not pertain to a promise / fulfillment.

43 So the Lord gave Israel all the land he had sworn to give their ancestors, and they took possession of it and settled there

Your denial of clear scripture prevents you from being trusted.
