Yes, we will do that. Recognizing that fact doesn't do a thing for answering the question of the thread, however. The religion has ideals that even non-believers can be inspired by, and also, those who are doing works of mercy are not necessarily going to be saved.

I guess im confused by the title, i see your point, i was just trying to say if our faith is real, we will follow the lord in deed and not just word. But everything begins and ends with faith, we begin our journey by confessing that we believe in Christ. That's the first step, then prove we believe by following Him.

Deliverance from eternal death, and possession of eternal life... this is what Jesus saves us from.

Acts 27:31:paul said to the centurion and to the soldiers, Except these abide in the ship, ye cannot be saved.

What happened here?
If the soldiers did not abide in the ship they could not be saved?

Romans 5:9:Much more then, being now justified by his blood, we shall be saved from wrath through him.

How are we saved here?

Romans 8:24:For we are saved by hope: but hope that is seen is not hope: for what a man seeth, why doth he yet hope for?

It says here that we are saved by hope.

Romans 10:9:That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.

What are the obligations that one has to do to be saved here?

Romans 10:13:For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.

It seems here, calling on the name of the Lord, one is saved?

1 Corinthians 15:2:By which also ye are saved, if ye keep in memory what I preached unto you, unless ye have believed in vain.

How are people saved here?

1 Timothy 2:15:Notwithstanding she shall be saved in childbearing, if they continue in faith and charity and holiness with sobriety.

How is the woman saved?

Philippians 2:12:Wherefore, my beloved, as ye have always obeyed, not as in my presence only, but now much more in my absence, work out your own salvation with fear and trembling.

How are people saved here?

Why would you call the gift of prophecy a curse?

Balaam did not appreciate the truth of what God was telling him. He was not on board with God's plan at all, and for him it was not a blessing at all to say such things. If God sided with the Hebrews, the Midianites and his people who inhabited the land were in serious, serious trouble.

In fact, when he could not make his prophecy do the job for him, he actively sought out another way to bring God's curse on the Hebrews, and he succeeded to the tune of 24000 Hebrew deaths.

Then when God's blessings on the Hebrews through Balaam's prophesying began to take effect, Balaam was listed among the dead, like you already noticed.

He was very much like a precursor to Jonah, who ran away from God rather than prophecy repentance to Nineveh and the Assyrians, who were the deadly enemy to Jonah's Israel. From a prophets view, Nineveh's repentance was Israel's doom, and the words of salvation left a very bitter taste in Jonah's mouth indeed. For Jonah at least, there was eventually given the understanding between undeserved mercy and justice. With repentance, Nineveh had potential, at least. They had cattle, in God's words.

Balaam's prophecy was a prophecy of his own doom, and he knew it.

There is a vast difference between believing in someone's accomplishing something and believing that someone can accomplish something. To believe in someone is to put our trust in him and his ability to do what others, or Scripture, says that he can do. To believe that someone is capable of performing a certain feat is nothing more than an intellectual exercise at best, and the impetus to attempt to interfere with him at worst.

Even the devil's believe but I tremble.

Absoutely. James was right when he said this. He means it differently than how you're using it.

James is saying that even the devils have belief. Belief is NOT enough. Belief and works is.

You believe that there is one God. You do well. Even the demons believe--and tremble! But do you want to know, O foolish man, that faith without works is dead? Was not Abraham our father justified by works when he offered Isaac his son on the altar? Do you see that faith was working together with his works, and by works faith was made perfect? And the Scripture was fulfilled which says "Abraham believed God, and it was accounted to him for righteousness." And he was called the friend of God. You see then that a man is justified by works, and not by faith alone.................................... For as the body without the spirit is dead, so faith without works is dead also.

I like to think that our faith is perfected in LOVE (of thy LORD and thy neighbour).:)

So how many works must we do to attain salvation?

So how many works must we do to attain salvation?

The answer is simple brother: walk in LOVE!

On one occasion an expert in the law stood up to test Jesus. “Teacher,” he asked, “what must I do to inherit eternal life?”
“What is written in the Law?” he replied. “How do you read it?”

He answered, “‘Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength and with all your mind’; and, ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’”

“You have answered correctly,” Jesus replied. “Do this and you will live.” Luke 10:25-28

Then what were the people in the passages I quoted, saved from?
God saves us from many things… sometimes it’s sickness, enemies, and other harmful things. But in the case of eternal life, we are saved from eternal life without God, without His grace, His riches and His kindness… God saves us because of His great love for us, in order that he might show the incomparable riches of his grace, expressed in his kindness to us in Christ Jesus. Here is how we are saved from eternal life without God…

Read what Jesus said to Nicodemus: (John 3:5-8,14-18).
5 Jesus answered, “I tell you the truth, no one can enter the kingdom of God unless he is born of water and the Spirit. 6 Flesh gives birth to flesh, but the Spirit gives birth to spirit. 7 You should not be surprised at my saying, ‘You must be born again.’ 8 The wind blows wherever it pleases. You hear its sound, but you cannot tell where it comes from or where it is going. So it is with everyone born of the Spirit.”

14 Just as Moses lifted up the snake in the desert, so the Son of Man must be lifted up, 15 that everyone who believes in him may have eternal life.
16 “For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. 17 For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him. 18 Whoever believes in him is not condemned, but whoever does not believe stands condemned already because he has not believed in the name of God’s one and only Son.

Even the devil's believe but tremble. It's more than believing A lot of people believe but never trust Christ as their Saviour. There are some who believe in Christ but are trusting in good works
Exactly,

Romans 11
6 And if by GRACE, then it is no longer by WORKS; if it were, grace would no longer be GRACE.

his work will be shown for what it is, because the Day will bring it to light. It will be revealed with fire, and the fire will test the quality of each man's work. If what he has built survives, he will receive his reward. If it is burned up, he will suffer loss; HE HIMSELF WILL BE SAVED, but only as one escaping through the flames. 1 Corinthians 3 13-15

Sir, do you notice it just says "do this"? It does not give a long lists of daily tasks there.

True but that list help us understand love, would you agree? And surely we cant love by doing the opposite of whats on the list can we? Paul knew how to teach commandments. That's how we should also teach them. Paul is our model teacher, him and the rest of the apostles, and they learned from the best teacher of all. :)

Romans 13:7 Render therefore to all their dues: tribute to whom tribute is due; custom to whom custom; fear to whom fear; honour to whom honour. 8 Owe no man any thing, but to love one another: for he that loveth another hath fulfilled the law. 9 For this, Thou shalt not commit adultery, Thou shalt not kill, Thou shalt not steal, Thou shalt not bear false witness, Thou shalt not covet; and if there be any other commandment, it is briefly comprehended in this saying, namely, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself. 10 Love worketh no ill to his neighbour: therefore love is the fulfilling of the law.
