because if salvation is by works, Christ died for nothing....James teaching about faith without works being dead agrees with Jesus teaching in Mathew 25 and 7.
Why won't we admit this?
And Paul hardly teaches against good works, he only teaches against boasting in them, that's all.

that we should be grateful that Jesus died for our sins. that salvation is by grace, through faith, no longer by works...
Romans 11:6
And if by grace, then it is no longer by works; if it were, grace would no longer be grace.
notice nothing about the cross, from certain people?
because if salvation is by works, Christ died for nothing....
People who know they have eternal life are not desperate.... if anything I would think those who are trusting in their works to keep them saved would be desperate... I know I would, if salvation depended on my righteousness, my acts.... even King David knew better than that...
I will come and proclaim your mighty acts, O Sovereign LORD; I will proclaim your righteousness, yours alone. Psalm 71:16
I never said salvation is by works, i just said if our faith is real, we will obey the Lord and His apostles instead of taking Paul out of context.
GIVE ME DEATAILED TEXT TO, TO FUSE WORKS AND THE CROSS.

One does not receive eternal life by faith alone....
Whoever says, “I know him,” but does not do what he commands is a liar, and the truth is not in that person. But if anyone obeys his word, love for God is truly made complete in them. This is how we know we are in him: Whoever claims to live in him must live as Jesus did. 1 John 2:4-7
I Notice that too . no cross, no blood, no gospel, no eternal life, no relationship, no confidence in Christ just works, keeping laws the only thing missing is animal sacrificing.notice nothing about the cross, from certain people? GAL 2;21.

It's always good to see you!

the only way u became alive, is by resurrection, romans 6, in no uncertain terms. so can u tell me what works u did, to help God raise u up, pull u out of the first sinful creation, and put u in him?
dead in adam, alive in christ, where do works come into that?
God's Word said:And how, exactly, does one know if they have eternal life or not? One of the scriptural answers that I get to this question is the following...
I John 5:13
"These things have I written unto that believe on the name of the Son of God; that ye may know that ye have eternal life, and that ye may believe on the name of the Son of God."
...but is this REALLY an acceptable answer? IOW, people consistently fail to mention/discuss the "these things" that John had written unto us. Such things as our need to walk in the light as He is in the light (I John 1:5-7), keep His word (I John 2:3-5), love our brother (I John 2:9-11), love not the world (I John 2:15-17), etc., etc., etc. IOW, we have a part to play in this as well.

1 John 5:9-13: "If we receive the witness of men, the witness of God is greater; for this is the witness of God which He has testified of His Son. He who believes in the Son of God has the witness in himself; he who does not believe God has made Him a liar, because he has not believed the testimony that God has given of His Son. And this is the testimony: that God has given us eternal life, and this life is in His Son. He who has the Son has life; he who does not have the Son of God does not have life. These things I have written TO YOU WHO BELIEVE IN THE NAME OF THE SONG OF GOD, THAT YOU MAY KNOW THAT YOU HAVE ETERNAL LIFE, and that you may continue to believe in the name of the Son of God."

Anyhow, since you specifically mentioned our own righteousness, as if it's of no value whatsoever, then what do you do with such verses as these:
I John 2:29-3:10
"If ye know that he is righteous, ye know that every one THAT DOETH RIGHTEOUSNESS is born of him. Behold, what manner of love the Father hath bestowed upon us, that we should be called the sons of God: therefore the world knoweth us not, because it knew him not. Beloved, now are we the sons of God, and it doth not yet appear what we shall be: but we know that, when he shall appear, we shall be like him; for we shall see him as he is. AND EVERY MAN THAT HATH THIS HOPE IN HIM PURIFIETH HIMSELF, EVEN AS HE IS PURE. Whosoever committeth sin transgresseth also the law: for sin is the transgression of the law. And ye know that he was manifested to take away our sins; and in him is no sin. Whosoever abideth in him sinneth not: whosoever sinneth hath not seen him, neither known him. LITTLE CHILDREN, LET NO MAN DECEIVE YOU: HE THAT DOETH RIGHTEOUSNESS IS RIGHTEOUS, EVEN AS HE IS RIGHTEOUS. He that committeth sin is of the devil; for the devil sinneth from the beginning. For this purpose the Son of God was manifested, that he might destroy the works of the devil. Whosoever is born of God doth not commit sin; for his seed remaineth in him: and he cannot sin, because he is born of God. In this the children of God are manifest, and the children of the devil: WHOSOEVER DOETH NOT RIGHTEOUSNESS IS NOT OF GOD, neither he that loveth not his brother."
???
"...every one THAT DOETH RIGHTEOUSNESS is born of him."
"Little children, let no man DECEIVE YOU: HE THAT DOETH RIGHTEOUSNESS IS RIGHTEOUS, even as he is righteous."
"...WHOSOEVER DOETH NOT RIGHTEOUSNESS IS NOT OF GOD..."
Are you telling me/us that you don't DO RIGHTEOUSNESS? If so, then...
God has given us all things which pertain to life and godliness and we need to use them. In doing such, we purify ourselves, even as He is pure.
