No one is in hell! The lake of fire comes at the end of the world.
Rev 20:18 And the sea gave up the dead which were in it; and
death and Hell (i.e., the grave) gave up the dead which were in them; and they were judged every man by his works.
So "death & hell" refers to death and the grave.
Now notice what happens in the 2nd death:
Rev 20:14 And
death and hell were cast into the lake of fire.
This is the second death.
How can hell be cast into hell? Doesn't make one bit of sense.
Here's the CEB: "
Then Death and the Grave were thrown into the fiery lake"
Here's the CJB: "
Then Death and Sh'ol were hurled into the lake of fire."
Sh'ol means grave.
What then does all this mean? That the lake of fire takes care of the sin problem. No more death and hence no more graves.
