Right now we have roughly 140,000 troops in Iraq trying to keep it under control, not counting the Iraqi battalions not quite ready yet. In otherwords, there are a whole lot of forces over there combined taking on this task, and that's not counting the Brits, etc. As it stands now, and I searched for new data, but as it stands and three years later, as of late Feb 2006, there are NO Iraqi battalions (700 soldiers) who are at "Level 1" which means able to fight on their own. So seeing if the resistance stays the same, then just to replace our 140,000 boots on the ground, they would have to have 200 Level 1 battalions to hit 140k, but at min they would have to have 100 at Level 1?
Man, If things don't change; if they continue to have infiltration problems into their ranks, I think we're going to be there for a long long long time...
