Tell Sassy I saw him first. LOL She can "object" at the wedding.
SassySDA said:I most definitely do believe there will be a Sunday Law enacted. It will be introduced through Homeland Security...in that they will use fear tactics to enact it.
I can easily see it happening with most people not even blinking an eye, because for one thing the majority of the population already goes to church on Sunday...
The fear of terrorism will be used on folks, I can see the president (whichever one is in office at the time) telling us how our country is in dire trouble, and they have come to the conclusion that the reason goes to our having taken God out of almost everything...we need to get BACK to God...that's how it will start, and the enactment of it won't even draw a murmur.
That what I envision anyway...no one knows for CERTAIN how it will be enacted.

What about the rest of the world??? How will it be enacted through out the world???
And How do you believe it will enforced??

Not true. It has to be enforced in such a way that only part of the population is affected. How will that be done. And I agree that enacting it will be tricky. It won't be as easy as you see in in terms of the Patriot Act (you may not have mentioned it).SassySDA said:Enforcing it won't be difficult. Enacting it will be the tricky part, MUCH trickier.

Ok here is another question, Do you believe that believe that there will be a world wide Sunday Law and if so how will it be enforced on the world population,

Also other variables have not been considered, for example, there are places that have to run 24/7. Hospitals, that same police force, the armed services, utilities, etc... those will not stop functioning, and people will have to work to ensure no stoppage.....
The concept sounded good when there were a few adventists all located in New England... but that world has moved on. Adventists are all over the globe, people exist in different time zones... naw... not going to happen like that..... but that's just me....
SassySDA said:The difference between violators of the Sunday Law and Speeders? The violaters of the Sunday Law, will be mainly found in one place on the Sabbath. At least in the beginning. Some will resort to worshipping in their home. I won't do that, I'm more like Daniel. The more they try to tell me I can't worship on Saturday, that's when you'll see me in the church window with lights blaring...
To do it any other way would be to show weakness, it would certainly not be considered standing up for God and what I believe in.
On the money. I am waiting for someone to come out and say what they law would say. They have not because they cannot find any law that would make sense. Here is the problem. Since it is a Sunday law they cannot forbid you from going to church on Saturday; they would have to require you to go to church on Sunday. Let's see how that would work. Only Adventists go to church all day, at least they used to. So the law will be a burden on the people who are not accustomed to that and the Bible never said you cannot go to church on Sunday. A National Sunday Law won't work.StormyOne said:No I don't think so, and even if it was, it would be nearly impossible to enforce.... police cannot catch all the speeders, burgulars, murderers, embezzlers, and/or terrorists, so you are suggesting that they will be able to enforce mandatory worship.....

For some reason some have stayed back in the nineteenth century.StormyOne said:Correct, it would have to be a law that forbid worship on Saturday....think about revivals... we attend church nearly everyday when they are conducted... So you are right, worshipping 2 days a week is not a big deal. Not only that, many of us have jobs in which we are off Saturday and Sunday, unlike yrs ago when people actually had only one day off...
Like I said, it may have sounded doable 100 yrs ago, but that world no longer exists....

The same EGW advised that when those laws are passed we should hold services on Sunday. It is not a sin to go to church on Sunday or to stay home and watch TV. How will they enforce it?Olikamay said:Political corruption is destroying love of justice and regard for truth; and even in free America, rulers and legislators, in order to secure public favor, will yield to the popular demand for a law enforcing Sunday observance.
You need to remember that in Eden the devil did not bring something new to Eve. He used something God had made. He is the master at taking what God has made and getting us to mess it up. In that way we deceive ourselves into thinking that we are doing just what God wants, and we don't take time to look behind the curtain.StormyOne said:Let's look at the other thing this belief does... it generates fear and paranoia.... those things should be absent when it comes to the things of God.... Daniel was not fearful, he knew God would be faithful to him....
The disciples were not fearful, nor did it cross their minds, they did what the Holy Spirit compelled them to do, and rested in the fact that God would be faithful in His promises to them....
We sometimes preach fear... why?
