  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

Hello! I've been here almost 3 years. I became a believer about 4.5 years ago, but I finally accepted Christ and learned to trust him on May 20, 2007. From the ages of 16 - 22, I was agnostic and bordering seriously on atheism. I used to be very liberal. The closer I've gotten to Christ, the more conservative I've gotten (much like GreenMunchkin). I'm conservative religiously, socially, and politically. I attend an SBC church. I hope to be baptized very soon and become a full-fledged member of that church. I had never been around a group of believers so on fire for God before attending that church.
I am like you. Lol. Become more conservative as I know HIM better.

Hello everyone.

My name is Tom, I'm Catholic. I'm here because I know for a fact I'm not welcome in the Liberal Forum ;). Politically, I'm an independent, as I haven't found a party which is truly willing to protect the innocent in what has increasing become a culture of death. I believe in the inerrancy of Scripture, I believe abortion is the greatest continual mass murder spree in the history of the world, and I believe God told a husband to cleave to his wife for a reason.

I am a chinese christian from Singapore. About 20++ % of the people here are christians. So, yup, we are not the majority in my country. :)

I am from a pentecoastal church.

I am from a taoist family, and become the christian at age 18. I was a VERY liberal christian at first, believing that as long as you believe in Jesus, you can follow anything you want. (Well, I did not attend church, back then. Parents forbid it.)

As I grow to know Jesus more through a series of problems that come to my life, and get to meet REALLY serious christians on fire for Him, I become more conservative in my christian worldview, although, I also heavily believe in reaching out to the non-christian people.

I am considered charismatics, since I believe in and practised the gifts of tongues and believe in and worship in a church that is charismatic.

However, I always believe thaT LOVE and christlikeness unite the believers more than any gifts or talents, so I often fellowship with non-charismatic christians from different denominations in my school, who I can see, really love Jesus like the way I do. :)

For me now, I guess, how much a person loves Jesus, and how much he or she obeys and practises God's Word, The Bible, matters more to me than which church or denomination he or she is from. :)
Taoism is a religion I don't really know much about. If you don't mind, some time, I'd like to hear a basic description of what the religion is about.

My name is Julio Perez. I came to Christ about 3 years ago. I was an athiest struggling being one since I couldn't not be consistant with my world view. I knew that being an athiest I would have to deal with the tough issues such as ethics and creation which I could no longer justify rationally with athiesm. Coming to Christ he opened my eyes to God's Law and redepemtion through HIS Love. I attend Calvary Chapel South Bay in California but I'm a strong Calvinist and I mostly attend my current church for fellowship purposes. I'm currently looking for a strong Reformed church in which I can learn apologetics, theology and fellowship with other conservatives like myself.

I'm Jakki and I'm an English born again Christian conservative. I am also 100% prolife. Personally I am glad this forum (or is it subforum? ) has been created as I am fed up of seeing liberals trolling in the main denominational sections and trying to stir up arguments.:sigh: Differences of opinion are one thing but slanging matches are another.

I am not into labels much but definately NOT liberal on most things.
I consider myself a compassionate conservative.

My Christian Beliefs:
God is sovereign. God is omnipotent. God is omnipresent.
The Trinity is God three in One: the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit.
Jesus was born of a virgin who conceived Him via the Holy Spirit.
Jesus came to die on the cross so that we may have eternal life.
After being crucified Jesus arose the third day. Praise God.
After 40 days Jesus ascended into Heaven to sit at the right hand of God.
Salvation is by God's grace alone, not works.
The Bible is the inspired word of God and should not be added to or taken away from.
Marriage is a union between one man and one woman and should not be split up.

I don't think I forgot anything.
I do not believe in abortion for myself but believe in individuals rights to decide for themselves but as a tax payer I do NOT want to pay for it.

Politically I vote for the person NOT the party.

I grew up in a strict Christian home and glad of it.
My parents are still happily married after over 45 years.
We went to different denoms growing up so I am flexbile there.
As an adult I too have attended different denoms at different times.
The churches I stayed the longest at include Nazarene (high school thru young adult) and then mostly different Baptist denoms.
I have also been comfortable at Mennonite, Christian and Missionary Alliance and Salvation Army.
These all have similar worship styles and governance.

I've been at CF over 3 years.
Original id was caitlincares but was stalked.
Eventually reregistered with this id.

Never married but currently in serious relationship.
Met my totally awesome Christian boyfriend here at CF nearly 2 years ago.
We will meet for the first time in 3 weeks. :swoon: :tutu:

I am enjoying very much reading the introductions here! I feel such a peace with this group, I'm very glad it was formed! An oasis!

I grew up in a Christian home. My parents were involved in the 70's Charismatic movement, so the whole "spirit-filled" thing is very normal to me. My dad became a United Methodist minister when I was in junior high, and we were always wayyyyy on the conservative (and Charismatic) end of the UMC.

When I was in college, I had a faith crisis, and at one point I didn't think I believed in God at all. Of course I was deluding myself. I tried coming back into it as a liberal, but my heart was not there, and it wasn't long before I came back to the way I was raised (and then turned more Charismatic than my mom and dad, ha! :p)

I belong to a Charismatic non-denominational church smack dab in the middle of the continental USA - Sedalia Missouri.

Before that I was in a Mennonite cell church that left the denomination to become part of the Radical Churches Network (I love that).

Before that I was at an AOG church near Waco, Texas.

Before that I was at a "bapticostal" church in Waco, Highland Baptist.

Before that it was the Episcopal Church of the Holy Spirit there in Waco.

So I've kinda been around different traditions, and I'm comfortable with all of them, as long as they don't go liberal on me.

By liberal, I'm mainly talking about a lax attitude toward sin. That's why the Mennonite church I was in left the denomination - believe it or not. Most people at the local level have no idea what's going on at the national/international level in their denominations, sadly.

Between this and the new Charismatic sub-forum, I am feeling much more warm and cozy at CF.

Hello everyone! My name is Cheri. I'm a newbie here - just joined last week! I've been just kind of skimming around here so far, peeking in forums & see who's there - you know, kind of like going thru the mall. It's a big mall! It appears that this is a forum that I would fit in, as I am a confessional Lutheran (ELS).

I work full time, my youngest just graduated from H.S. and will be going to college in the fall, my oldest just started college and has a beautiful little girl. I also have 2 step-daughters that stay with us from time to time, one is living with us full-time right now.

I like gardening, and participate in my local community theater. We are currently in the last week of rehearsal for Brigadoon - a musical. Tonight is dress rehearsal and tomorrow night is opening night. I'm getting scared! Hope all goes well! Look forward to meeting everyone in this forum.

Well, if it doesn't go well, you won't reappear for a hundred years and everyone will have forgotten. ;)

Welcome to our group. You will fit in great and we look forward to your posts.

I do not have the impression, neither do I have any hopes, that fundamentalists won't be accepted here. I think fundamentalists are part of the larger group known as 'conservative'. The only things I have written regarding fundamentalists have been to reassure people that this group is not limited to fundamentalists.
