Thank you for your honesty I can't help but feel that you feeling drawn to this site is God trying to call out to you. It's not always an easy call to hear and I know it's hard to surrender to something you can't see or hold, but just keep your mind open to the possibility and learn what you can from these amazing people

Have you been led to the Lord and then accepted and confessed Him? If not; this is paramount to anything else in this life friend because without the Holy Spirits indwelling, Your eyes will never be opened to the truths of God's Word.

God reveals Himself to everyone eventually.....He wants no one to perish without having the chance to know Him….to accept Him. So somewhere along your lifetime He will reveal Himself to you....that will be your opportunity to accept or reject Him....and He reveals Himself to us through His Word.
In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God and the Word was God.....And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us.
So when the Word comes to you and your heart is moved by it then is the moment that God is revealing Himself to you.

That's what makes the relationship so much more beautiful! Nothing you do can stop His love!

"But God commends his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us." Romans 5:8

It doesn't matter how "wicked" as long as the acceptance is real and solely between you and God, He doesn't even remember the worst thing you did or will do.

Hello and welcome to CF.

People tend to find what they seek. If you actually want to have a personal experience of God, you would do better to be at least somewhat open to it, and to make some effort to seek it. God rarely goes knocking people over and forcing an encounter on them. I think that's only ever happened once that we know of.

I would just like to comment briefly on this. While hesychasm offers some - great benefits - it is not without its spiritual dangers. One should NEVER read about it and undertake such exercises on their own. This is always done with oversight from someone already more experienced.

When you realise that you are needing to get some food in the house so you can eat - do you sit down and wait for it to arrive without ordering it , or do you actually go out and get it yourself ?

God is not going to come to you until you ask Him to do just that.

Welcome to the forums. I trust that God will reveal Himself to you in His time, if you are open to His so doing.

But yes, real faith is based on reason, experience, and after that, on the realization that we cannot know everything but trust in Him anyway based on the prior reason and experience. It seems reasonable to “stand where you are” until through reason or experience (or direct revelation) you begin to have a measure of faith, but in God’s time, not ours. I pray that you receive such, as it is most comforting.
