Do you ever meet that person that refreshes your soul? It was a pleasure seeing him yesterday- the pastor from Myanmar who I have met and told sime of you about before, standing in for my main pastor for yesterday's service.
This experience shows God's providence- years ago I met him in town just to give him some encouragement as I saw him at an evangelism stand, he thanked me and told me about my now local church. I had no idea who he was.
If you told the past me then that not only would that church promoted on the stand would be my present church but I would soon be receiving refreshment for my soul from this man on the stand regularly I wouldn't have believed you (sidenote- I didn't join my present church s a result of that encounter). God's providence working- before I even had my first date with my now wife I had read all about Christians in Myanmar and the persecution they faced there, little did I know I would meet one who would refresh my soul face to face.
Before I went through a trial last year he quoted Romans 8:32 to me at a prayer meeting of our church group before me and him even knew it would happen to me and I have thought of that moment since and it has helped me through my numerous trials.
After the sermon on Sunday he invited me to some evangelism he does (that would really improve my evangelism skills), prayed for some very complicated circumstances in my life and then told me moving stories- a rather large man being baptised and the logistics involved and another baptised lady and her hard walk with Christ (her parents were not at the baptism).
He is the most Christ-like man I have ever met, he will no doubt be listed by myself as one of the many inspiring people in my Christian walk and he always refreshes my soul but myself and everyone must realise- this is God's grace working in him (1 Corinthians 15:10) and without the Holy Spirit he would be like the typical man who does not know God, with no interest in the things of God (Romans 8:7-9).
