CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

My name is Rachel. I have been saved for 11 yrs. but I married a man who I am not sure is saved. We have been together for 2 yrs. and married in April of 2007. Everytime I bring up the subject of God, he gives me a different answer. Sometimes he says that he is saved and he believes that Jesus died on the cross for our sins but other times he says that he believes that someone died on the cross. I don't think he knows what he believes. I think maybe he told me he was saved so that I would stay with him. He knows that I am a child of God and that I wanted to be with someone who was of the same belief as me. He will not go to church and says that the bible is not the true word of God because it was written by man. I have tried to tell him the truth of it all but he will not listen and gets defensive.

My name is Tina and I am new to theese forums. I first came to know Christ when I was five (thirty-odd years ago). I spent many years serving God as a missionary and then became burnt out and apathetic. I married my husband during that time. He grew up in the Lutheran church, but at this time feels that God is irrelevant to his life. I have recently turned back to God and my husband is fairly supportive of that. We have two daughters, ages 3 and 5.
