The Christian walk is a battle and a warfare and the place it is fought is -IN THE MIND. You are being strongly attacked- and it is "normal" but there also is a way the Lord teaches us to fight back and defend ourselves. The Word tells us to "cast down all imaginations and reasonings that exalt themselves against the knowledge of God." In Christ- you have authority to refuse certain thoughts and say "NO" that's a lie- the Word of God says.... After a while you will discern- thoughts that are of your old nature "your flesh" and thoughts that are fiery darts aimed at you by the enemy.
Put more of the Word of God into your mind- esp the NT- and your spirit man will grow so that the mind of Christ becomes stronger than double or double mindedness.

Also when you confess to the Lord your struggles- ask Him to give you more faith and to show you which voice is of him and what is not. Also ask Him to show you how to wield the :"sword of the spirit".

be blessed

MY BROTHER,

i came across the following Scripture in my reading this morning and it leads me to believe that i have stumbled in my dealings with you. Forgive me.

"Be merciful to those who doubt; snatch others from the fire and save them; to others show mercy, mixed with fear--hating even the clothing stained by corrupted flesh." (Jude:25)

Josh, have you ever talked to a doctor about this? It sounds as though you may be suffering from scrupulosity, which is a form of OCD....

You have obviously got a great many things going around in your mind, I hope that you can find peace and certainty

Dear Searcher,

I am glad to hear that with all your struggles you are still searching and haven't hardened your heart to the point of not hearing the message. I was a bit confused about whether you believe the Bible or not. How do you have conviction it is true if you're not sure you believe in God? Are you saying you don't believe PERSONALLY in God? You know, the Bible says, "The devils also believe and tremble." James 2:19 It sounds like you are close to believing the gosple, but that you have not personally accepted it. Have you ever heard the story from the old testement of the serpent on the pole? The Israelites were dying from a plague and Moses asked God how they could be saved. God said that those people who would look to the serpent on the pole would be saved. Those that looked were healed. Those who did not, did not recieve God's free gift of salvation. The serpent on the pole was a picture of the messiah dying on the cross. Jesus died on the cross to pay the sins of the whole world. In order to receive salvation you must personally accept it. And this talk about "crucifying yourself," I do not find that in the Bible. The Bible teaches that Jesus is "the propitiation (atoning sacrifice) for our sins: and not for ours only, but also for the sins of the whole world." I John 2:2 Did you catch that? Christ's death on the cross is the whole world's payment for sin. "For the wages of sin is death: but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord." Romans 6:23. According to the Bible there are two religions in the world. Those who accept Jesus' finished work on the cross and those who try to go in some other way. I am only a sinner saved by grace. I hope that you realize the peace you can find if you only turn to Christ. You mentioned that you don't feel like you have anything solid to stand on. I would suggest that you read Matthew 7:24-29. Jesus is the Rock to build your life on. "Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved." Acts 4:12
