  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

Yeah and then there are "people" that even though they are real people just like you and me like to be somebody else online on purpose. That's a little bit different than trying to hide the things you don't think someone will find appealing when you meet. And that's the scary part. They do this in person too. In fact there is a show coming out next week called "The devil you know" and there are others like "Who the BLEEP did I marry?" THAT'S what I'm talking about.
yes sister that is very scary and it seems like the web makes it easier for such people to prey on their victims. Have a major disagreement with someone and then you usually find a bit more about them!

I've not heard of those new shows. I don't have a TV as I've not bought one since I moved into my new home. When I get my living rom done I think I'll get a TV.

Wow I did NOT know that you did not have a TV!

I'm really sad for anyone who has been hurt or conned... heartbreak is heartbreak no matter how it happens and it HURTS and it can scar... I think no matter where you meet people you have to be careful though, and I'm not scared of using the web anymore than I'm scared of meeting people in person... I know so many horrible relationship stories, and they all start differently... some met at school, others in church, some at work... you name it, and sometimes it goes wrong. Fear is satan's way of stopping us and hemming us in, so we are not called to live in fear! But by testing and praying we are meant to move forward... sometimes we still get it wrong, but we are only human! xx

lol ... sugardaddys have certain benefits, but they also have some serious drawbacks.

I talked to one woman who had a suggardady once. He gave her a house and paid the utilities. He was a business man that would spend a week or more at different locations around the work. She had to travel with him 3 or 4 weeks out of the year to get her benefit. Ya, she knew he had a couple of others he was working the same plan with.

This is a dangerous man and is still active today (Jan 2011). Trace1957 is sill out there on internet dating websites like SeniorDating and some interracial dating websites as well (Ladies beware especially in the Boston Area). The devil is alive and well!!! He continues to deceive and scam. In 2011, I had the misfortune of falling for his charm but the ALARM BELLs were so loud that I backed away (Thank Goodness).

I just heard about a dating site called sugardaddys.com lol. Yeah I'm thinking about joining that one ;) NOT!

Ah, yeah, I used to have an account on SugarDaddy. You would be amazed how many young, beautiful women are willing to throw themselves at guys who have a little money. I did meet a few nice people I am still friends with, but overall it was a very negative experience. So glad God brought me out of all that garbage.

Internet dating is not inherently any more dangerous than any other way of meeting people, I have known people in church who are a mess. Everyone has a responsibility to be safe no matter where they meet someone. But it IS sad when you see someone who purposely manipulates and hurts people. :(

Being a mess and being dangerous IMO are two different things and anyone can be anybody online so again, IMO it is much more dangerous than meeting someone from someone you know at church. Now if you are just meeting a random stranger at church, they too could be a wolf in sheeps clothing so again, yes it would be dangerous, but I think they have a much greater ability to deceive you online. True, true, so you definitely need to take stronger measures to be safe, even as a man!

I met this lady for dinner once, things went well and we didn't want the date to end. She suggested we go to a local park and walk the trail a few times, and she insisted on driving. On the way back, I looked in her back seat and I saw a rusty machete (I am not making this up). I asked why she had it, and she was like "Oh you know, I am a single lady, I need to protect myself". And I said..... "So really, you are going to whack them with a machete?? Have you heard of pepper spray?"... She went on to explain that it would not bother her at all, she used to work at a mortuary and liked working with dead people, blah blah blah. I was SO glad to get back to my car, and obviously I never went out with her again.....

Wow and yeah from seeing the news and watching ID Discovery it seems that more and more women are killing people/children these days so it could work both ways. Usually men have more physical strength than women and IDK it's just risky dealing with people you don't know these days and even if you DO know them, you don't really cuz how many people thought Ted Bundy was a "nice guy"? and HE was a serial killer!!!
