Has anyone got any solutions for insomnia. I have been sleeping really badly. I reckon in the last week I've managed to get around 30 hours sleep. I tried an early night and woke up at 1 a.m. (so, roughly 1-2 hours sleep). And I'm just exhausted all the time. It also means that I have to sleep during the day (though even then only for a couple of hours), and with that and work, it also means that I'm barely seeing the people I live with, much less people that I have to leave my halls to see. Plus I'm too tired to think properly, which makes it really hard to do my coursework, and I don't want to fail my degree again.

So, any solutions? I'm pretty desperate.

You might want to cut down on your caffeine. Also, I used to stay up all night sometimes because of various things. I have found that one of the best ways to get my sleep pattern back to normal is to stay up as long as I can until the next night and then sleep. I don't know if that would work for you or not but the point is that you might try just making yourself really tired and then sleeping. Also, I suppose you could try a sleeping pill like Simply Sleep or something for a short while. But they say it's not a good idea to take it continuously. If it continues to be a problem, see your doctor cause it could be a medication you're on or something that is causing the problems.

It depends on the cause.

Are you under stress?
Do you tend to worry at night? Many people do because there are fewer distractions, and their minds naturally turn to their pressures.
Are you in any kind of pain, or are there any health problems that may be causing it?
Is your sleep schedule regular?
Also, dietary habits such as too much sugar, too much caffeine, or even small amounts of alcohol before bed can cause it for some people.
