Does this study include the number of babies that are induced by abortionists only to be slaughtered the moment they are born?

If so, that would make the graph make sense.

Janice

No, add the abortion stats to this number and we're even worse.

Of course compared to other industrialized nations in the chart, they too have high abortion rates.

So, this is just comparing infant mortality rates, i.e. babies that have been born, but don't survive because of their mother's not having access to quality health care.

Obama Care will hopefully begin to change the facts.

Not that I oppose the ACA (I don't know why even it's supporters are calling it Obama care, that's a stupid name.) but I'm not sure that we can pin it all on lack of access to health care.

Canada for example is #2 and no one there lacks health care.

My wife and I had a hypothesis that the recent increase in infant mortality rates could be due in part to the rising use of midwives in one's own home as opposed to doctors in a hospital.

I hope you are right but I don't have much hope myself. At this point I'm not willing to openly associate Obama Care with better health care. Looks like Obama Care will force the price of health care to go way up, which will mean less money for real things kids need to survive, like quality food, etc.

I am not trying to be rude here, but are you proposing that lack of healthcare is the ONLY reason?

My guess is that Canada is #2, because many people live in rural areas where they don't have doctors or clinics and have to travel far to get proper care. Many just opt not to.

The metro areas it's not the case.

Even so, the fact is that there are more than just healthcare that plays into it, same reason that there is more than healthcare that play into NATURAL abortion rates ( miscarriages).

As I said, it's not just not having access to health care, but other factors as well.

However, having access to health care increases the odds for survival a great deal.

No, not the only reason.

so therefore it may or may not change it. You may have 40 years on me but you and I both know that just because we HAVE healthcare does not mean people will take it. because when you think about almost EVERYONE has ACCESS to healthcare here. Access they can afford maybe not, but if they can't afford it maybe they should consider not having children and if that means no sex or if that means getting fixed so be it.

Access to health care in this context means having a physician who can provide prenatal care.

Unfortunately, not everyone had that available to them in the USA.

Education is part of healthcare BTW.

Anyway, you can argue with the chart I provided. The data is there and hopefully we'll see a change as we become more educated and have better quality healthcare for all people.

A lot of people in the US live in rural areas too you know.

When my wife and I where on our honeymoon we stayed in a cabin the the Blue Ridge Mountains. The nearest town to us was a town called Blue Ridge Georgia. Nice little town. . . hard to get to because of all the mountain driving. I think the nearest interstate is about 2 or 3 hours away. Not because it's very far in terms of distance but because of all the mountain driving.

Anyways while we where there we drove by their "hospital". There are clinics here in South Bend, Indiana that are bigger then their hospital.

Certainly not the place I would want to be if my life was in danger.

That took exactly one post (I bet myself it would take three - now I have to buy myself a drink)

Good Lord people:

We have a healthcare issue here babies are dying because we have lousy healthcare and what do we care about ?

Abortion.

Yeah,

Is it a wonder that pro-lifers are seen as caring only about fetus's ?

That would be a lie.

The vast majority of PP serves are women's health services.
that is why I said if if they provide OTHER things then sure they can be included.
