Infant baptism

Friend it was never a question about children , but rather about infant baptism.
I personally know children who have accepted Christ as Saviour and been baptized.
However, I have never known a baby to repent of sin (s) and get baptized Scripturally .

Babies are children, so stop evading the answer.

"Children" means offspring in the Bible, or are you saying that they aren't part of the New Covenant?

Wow I am surprised that you got this far and barley touch Col 2:11 This I think is the basis of infant baptism. It is the extension of the N.T. fulfilling the O.T. It stands to reason that if Christ is your circumcision and that applies to children then baptism also applies to children. I don't think you are going to get more then that.

circumcision is for Infants, ok, you don't need to circumcise anymore because Christ has become that for you, if you are in Christ. So how do we get into Christ and be partakers of the covenant, we baptize. How did children become members of the Old Covenant circumcision. When did we circumcise children, on the 8th day, Since baptism replaces circumcision, we now baptize the child instead. In it not so hard to figure out.

Perhaps some of the reasoning can be found in Acts 11:14 and Acts 16:32, where it is mentioned to Cornelius and the Philippian jailer that they and their household would be saved. In both instances it seems as though through the acts and faith of the heads of inhabited households, that it applied to their families as well.

In that case it could be that God has shouldered the responsibility of ensuring that the head of that household was in fact acting as the head of the house and all the responsibility that would go with it; thereby it being his solemn duty to ensure that the members of his household would come to know and saving faith in the Lord Jesus Christ.

I'm not suggesting anything myself, just sharing a couple of possibilities of this can be seen through the lens of exegesis (the exposition or explanation of a text based on a careful, objective analysis. The word exegesis literally means “to lead out of.” That means that the interpreter is led to his conclusions by following the text).

The Protestant infant baptisms I have seen were really about the parents commitment to raise the child in a Christian home, and instilling in the child their Christian faith through teaching and attendance in church. I can't say for Roman Catholic practices as I just know from experience so I couldn't contribute more than an uninformed opinion.

I do know that to some the question is theological and addresses the question of what is the fate of a child's soul who dies before being able to make an adult decision as to their faith in Jesus Christ. We can all mince words on the topic, but I think ultimately each denomination has rituals that are performed that try to answer that difficult question, and for the families to commit to their Godly responsibility as the heads of Christian homes.

baptism is not about having a choice or repentence. in may or may not. include that but it is not about that. It is a legal transaction. That take you from one state and places you into another state.
