  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

I'm looking for some inexpensive edging to separate gravel from my lawn. It will be curved and I'd like to set it up so I can run the mower wheels right over it so there's no trimming later. However, it probably should be raised so the gravel won't get kicked into the lawn too much. I like the look of paver brick or the pre cast colored concrete that you can layout in a curve. Those two options can add up quickly ($$). Does anyone have any ideas for a good lawn/gravel separator that's not too expensive? I need about 200 feet.

Thanks.

Do you have a local dump or junk yard where people dump bricks or broken up concrete. Both can be partially buried to form a barrier. The bricks worl like pavers. Concrete can be painted. The concrete can be broken into smaller chunks- ranging from 4- 10 inches across. You can form almost a walkway pattern along the edge of the garden yet leave them about 1 to 2 inches exposed. There can be gaps in between and low sprawling plants like mother of thyme or moss can be planted in between the peices. If you mow at 3-4 inches tall the mother of thyme will barely be mowed and still grow and fill in. Just a suggestion. :)
