  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

What are her medical conditions, if I may ask? My sweetie is day trained, but not night trained. She has medical issues that made potty training a real challenge, despite her intelligence. She was actually not able to pull up or down her pants until she was 4.5 yrs old due to balance issues. And, she has cysts in her spine that cause inaccurate neurological data to be sent to her brain--she just was not aware when she needed to urinate/or have a bowel movement.

Then, add that her meds complicated the neurological data perceived by her brain, and it made for a most complicated process. So it is also possible that meds may play a part if she takes any.

And, my sweetie has SID, which makes playing in poop appealing for two reasons--one she does not like it in her pants, and two she just thinks it feels interesting .

She is autistic. (Was in her own little world until a year ago. She did not understand us, so how could we train her to use the toilet?) I am dreading the day she starts wanting to play with her poo. I've heard of some male autistic people enjoying that activity. So I just hope she won't develop that interest too.

Things have improved a bit. We have managed to train her water-works. We are now working on her bowel.

Mel,
you are NOT a failure! You are a great mommy and are doing the best you can. Your daughter has reasons she cant go on the potty and it isnt YOUR fault. It is part of her medical condition. please dont blame yourself. Just keep loving her and take care of her the best you can with God's help. HUGS.
