There are some very great gals, that have never known the American gambit, and don't care to. Instead of settling or giving in to some worldly gal, it will be far better for you to make it a goal of yours to take some extended vactions outside of the US. You are in a spot that's most consive to doing so. Yes, it's tough, but it's also a third option, and it will also be an adventure for you to experience. I also know for a fact, the aussie gals are top notch, be it, some where in between the American and the more down to earth ideals, country wise, and it's easier to get the visa's, and all that through it.
Don't give up, just expand your territory. I will warn you though, long distance relationships, especially when they are that far away are a very painful, miserable way to go, so don't just meet on the web and phone, do it in person from the beginning. If you decide to play knight in shining armor, and rescue one from an impoverished country, tread carefully, but the rewards, amazing, I've known some very happy men that have wives from these places, and they are treated like kings!
