Yet so simple a child can understand it.Genesis, controverisal, debated the world over.
God created everything in six literal days.Did God create everyting in six literal days, or is each day an unspecified length of time.
It is to be taken literally -- (assuming you're talking about Genesis 1 & 2).Did God start the whole thing..with the Big Bang, and then let everything evolve on its own evolutionary path, or is it to be taken literally.
Not at all.Tough call?
Done --Weigh in..and give us your comments?
Your confusing understanding with accepting. A child also accepts Santa Clause for many of the same reasons.Yet so simple a child can understand it.
Just like a child can understand Dr. Seuss.Yet so simple a child can understand it.
The intend was to portray 6 days, yes, but it is a story, not actual history.God created everything in six literal days.
An Bronze/Iron Age Hebrew would not have taken it literally. They understood their own culture, while modern creationists delude themselves into thinking it was specifically written for their own culture. It is to be taken literally -- (assuming you're talking about Genesis 1 & 2).

There are some who believe the creation events in Genesis were described by the author as he observed them from the North Pole,
Isaiah 40:22 It is he that sitteth upon the circle of the earth, and the inhabitants thereof are as grasshoppers; that stretcheth out the heavens as a curtain, and spreadeth them out as a tent to dwell in:God created everything while standing at the north pole of the earth? Is that what you are saying? I do hope it is - it's one of your best yet.
Isaiah 40:22 It is he that sitteth upon the circle of the earth, and the inhabitants thereof are as grasshoppers; that stretcheth out the heavens as a curtain, and spreadeth them out as a tent to dwell in:
