I think you have anxiety and maybe OCD. If you are suffering medically, of course God is not going to hold you to any sort of promises you made out of being ill. Please talk to your parents about your thoughts, compulsions, and obsessions, and please go see a doctor.

God loves you more than your money. He even says in the Bible that He does not want sacrifices, but a contrite heart.

He surely does not want you to agonize over this. Satan wants you to be kept in captivity to your impulsive, compulsive, obsessive thoughts.

This might sound harsh, but I think you really need to see a doctor. You've graduated now, and have time. Go see one now, in the next week. Show your posts to your parents, let them know about all the turmoil going on inside your mind and heart.

God loves you. Remember this. Even make it into a mantra. Everytime you have an intrusive thought "God loves me." Cling to that.

I still depend on my parents. And I'm leaving the country in two days for a long time. It's the worst time.

It's good that you still depend on your parents. They want what is best for you and can help you with behavioral modifications if you get a good therapist who gives you ways to help change behaviors.

Why not think about going to a doctor when you get back home from your trip? You know, God does not want you to be in agony all the time. He wants you to have peace. Going to a doctor might be the way to get that peace.

I don't say this to be mean, only, it seems you might need medical help.

I know and I'd love help but also I kind of wonder if I do. Like I don't want to cry and explain how crazy I am to a stranger.

Sometimes, it might be easier to talk to a stranger, because she doesn't know you in your real life. Plus, they are trained to help people. I assure you, they do not judge. They hear much more crazy things than you have posted.

I would suggest getting a Christian female counselor. Many of your compulsions and obsessions seem to center around God, so a Christian might be better able to understand. You will probably feel more comfortable talking to a woman.

Remember, this is their job. Please don't misunderstand what I am about to say. There are many well meaning people online who want to help. But sometimes, their advice is just- awful (including mine). People online can be way off base. So, if you talk to someone trained to help and know what they are about, you'll get better help.

You know the saying, "you get what you pay for"? Well, you get free advice here that may not be very good.

A doctor or therapist can give you better help.

Please think about it. And definitely talk to your parents and let them know what is going on with you.

You know, God gave us brains. We have used our brains to develop modern medicine. Jesus can absolutely heal her- but it may be through medical help.

Would you tell a person suffering from appendicitis, "Don't go have a surgery. Don't get that appendix removed. Jesus is all you need."

I hope you would not do such a silly thing.

It is the same with emotional or mental problems. These are medical issues, not spiritual.

I really think she is just fine, spiritually. It is the mental part she needs help.

Are you basing you judgement on this one thread? Or is there more information that you know of outside of this thread, that lets you conclude that medical attention is needed?

Her blogs and posts on multiple threads. She knows she has a lot of anxiety. I don't like talking about her without her knowledge, but I think DeerGlow is aware that she has anxiety and intrusive thoughts.

Every time I see money my brain starts trying to promise it all to God. I know we are not supposed to swear or if we promise to the Lord fulfill it quickly but I don't mean to promise everything in sight. It's already a problem when I have to support myself how do I handle it? I can hardly put my cash in my jacket or take it out to pay and my brain tries to start promising it all away. I feel like I'm being greedy wanting to save the money I'm being given but also like come on, I didn't mean to say that. I feel obligated to do something instead of willingly giving. Am I bound to these or is it wrong to ask God to release me from hasty promises I didn't mean to say? Am I having itching ears by asking this? Do promises have any weight if they're impulsive/compulsive?
What would be the point if you didn't support yourself first to the point of being able to be a blessing to others, I mean, if you spent everything and were irresponsible, you would not be being a good steward, if you don't make sure that you can and are in the position to being a blessing and not a burden, but helping those that might be a burden) Anyways, you have to make sure you are in a position of being a blessing to others, means taking care of your needs first sometimes...

God Bless!
