This will eventually lead into a question. Many of you have seen my name on here, causing commotion usually. I never meant to cause any problems but somehow did. The way I seen it, most people thought I was trying to argue but that was not true. I was only trying to learn about some things that bothered me. Finally, taking the step to Christianity, even though, I always felt pretty strong in my beliefs towards Jesus, I went ahead with the baptism. The church that my family have joined is a non-denominational Bible church. You come as you are, want to dress up, that is fine, want to wear jeans, that is fine too. The Pastor says we took a step back towards the old days where all that mattered is that you are there.

I'm thinking this forum needs that as well. Spiritwalker84 asked me in a PM why Christians were arguing in the thread about why not to accept Jesus in your heart but less than 10 had offered any help. Even worse, why a Christian would post something like that in a section for Non-Christians is beyond my comprehension. As I have said in other posts, there is too much assuming going on here. Not everyone has read the Bible or even worse are the many who are trying to become Christians and understand then see Christians disputing how Jesus should be worshipped. I understand that everyone has their opinions but the truth for me is that there is no perfect way to worship Jesus, your way may not agree with my way but neither of us are wrong.

A few weeks ago when I had been baptised, someone asked a question here about life, not about the Bible. I offered my opinion and some advice, two hours later my post was removed because I didn't have a Christian icon. The truth being, I had forgot to change it mainly because no one was offering this person any advice and I felt bad for him so I skipped ahead and posted. There should be a new sticky thread put up that says, "Only Non-Christians can start new threads".

If you are missing the big picture here. More Christians answer the posts in the section posted by other Christians than they do the questions from Non-Christians. Is it any wonder that we rarely see a Non-Christian stick around very long on the forum? The real problems in Christianity has nothing to do with the word usage, "accepting Jesus into my heart", it's the Christians that think they know everything that are the problem. One day, we will all realize what a bunch of (insert word of your choice here) we act like.

Three things to remember when you start to post to a Non-Christian, 1. They do not know the Bible. 2. They are not going to hell no more than you are for judging them. 3. They must respect something about Christianity and even more so, Jesus, to ask us questions, now, don't go making Jesus look bad by being a (insert second word of choice here).

I'm sorry to those that are Non-Christians, that you have to read through us Christians arguing about who knows more about how to worship our God. It's really not as hard as most of these answers make it out to be. I forgot my question, oops.

Tim,

I am so happy for you getting baptized and putting the Christian Icon up. I had complete faith in you all along.

I totally agree with everything you are saying. I hope and pray that I am not one of those "know it all christians" I pray before I post any responses for God to give me the words to write. No Christian should ever look down their noses at non-christians after all we all were non-christians at one time. We are living in a time when we need to show love to one another and I try to do that with my posts.

Again..I am so very proud of you!!!!!

Tell Cami I responded to her PM. Haven't heard back from her yet..I hope that I said something that was helpful.

God Bless

Diane

Hi Diane, thank you, from what I have seen, I rubbed some people the wrong way with this post but you know what? They can get over it. It's hard for people when you hold a mirror up for them to look at themselves. They instantly start picking you apart, trying to find a weakness. That of course is to cover up their own weaknesses but thank you for your words. We have been busy, that is probably why Cami hadn't got back to you. She said to tell you hello.

Hi Nice to meet you....... I agree with you, sometimes this happen, new born's in Christ want to share the faith, but they do not have the meat part of the bible yet, this takes time and alot of living to learn, us older people ( In Christ ) should know better then to get in to arguments about who is right or wrong, if a passage in the bible can be given and shown in love, to mean a certain meaning, then yes It should be given, but if the other person does not take it to heart what you have said, then the subject should be dropped. For we do live is the last days, and there are many people who take Jesus words and twist them around to a whole new meaning, for this reason I have aways asked people to read the bible them self's, do not always go by what one man says, that can be dangerous. It does take time for young christians to learn how to tell non christain about the meaning of scripture in the bible, for they are learning it them self's, so sometime they may feel safer talking to another christian, but because they are new to it them self's a argument can happen. Even the disciple's argued about what meaning Jesus words meant, so I guess were not doing to bad. LOL

Hi Tim
What you've said is very true, and I know most times I'm put off posting in here because of others trying to debate or *pick* what is said when it doesn't fit their theology. It's irked me no end to see christians ignore the OP and carry on discussions amongst themselves. Thanks for saying a whole bunch of stuff that we've all thought, but not had the guts to say. I'm hoping your presence in here will lift the ball game some and cause us all to really think about what we're doing.

Blessings ... Tavs

I can definitely relate to that. Doesn't matter how sincere you are, a lot of people on these forums seem to be out for the kill..lol.

It's beyond mine, too.

Amen. I have yet to see anything constructive take place on the non-Christian forums, and it would be nice if that would change.

Hi Tim! First off...congratulations on making a public declaration of your faith by being baptised. Secondly...I haven't forgotten your questoins...I actually sat down and answered some of them...now to get the answers online!!! Things will be so much more convenient when I get internet access at home!

Finally, in regards to the OP....isn't that so annoying?! My family has a saying that I use quite often: In the essentials-unity, in the non-essentials-charity, and in all else-love. The only thing that needs to be agreed on is the way to get to Heaven....everything else is simply a by-product. Unfortunately we spend so much time arguing about the by-products that we totally turn off any non-believer who might even be remotely interested in God.

Congrats on finding a church that you are comfortable in as well, sounds very similar to my church...too bad there aren't more of them out there like that!

Christians should indeed take more time ministering and spreading the love of Christ with non-believers. We are all found guilty at least sometimes. (Wel most anyway).
As for discussing and debating among Christians ... I believe this is neccesary because the Bible tells us to be ready and have an answer for the hope that is in us always.
We should seek to find the truth with other believers. And we should all challenge each others beliefs in everything. If my brother believes one thing and I believe another, I want to know why he believes what he does. And the same with me. If I'm never questioned or challenged about my faith or why I believe specifically what I believe, I will never have an answer for the hope that is in me, because I will never feel the need to explain what I have in Christ. And I would become a lazy Christian, and might just say, "let me believe what I believe and you believe what you believe, and we will live in harmony as Christians and never confront each other as to why we believe what we do"
NO! We are to be of one mind. There is only one true gospel, it does not mean that whatever you want it to mean to you is what it means. We must seek the truth.
If I am wrong, I want to know it. If my belief is wrong, I want to know so I can change what I believe.
There are however foolish contentions, and vain arguments that go nowhere of which we should avoid.
But we should study and discuss what we find.
It's sad that most Christians would not be able to intelectually desribe what Christ has done for them. They just say, "well I know I'm a Christian, and I do believe in God".
Well WHY do you believe???
And when a non believer comes to them and sais, "I want to know Christ, who is he? And what has he done for you? How does it work?" No one will have an answer, they'll just say, "Well, you have to say a prayer, and then Jesus comes into your heart and your a Christian". "And Thats it?" They say.
But most who get converted will continue to live with the struggle of sin in there lives, because they have never fully heard and understood what has happened and what they have in God.

Sorry this is getting kinda long, I'll stop it here.
