  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

I'm open for questions :)

Ok sister, thanks for your answers. :)

I really dislike this racism that still exists in the USA (to a much more limited degree than before). I guess that there is some racism here and there in Europe too, especially among some groups or nations, but I still find it strange that the USA hasn't been able to solve it yet, thinking about how much attention the Civil War etc. has had in your history. Racism in Europe is more based on some people here not in favor of the massive influx of foreigners that have taken place since the 1970s. But I guess that things will change when Latinos get the majority in the USA, which will happen sooner or later...

Although being a European, I might add that I think the USA should legalize all its immigrants. Looking back the natives of America didn't have much to say when millions of whites came - so modern Americans shouldn't be too strict either, as they are the descendants of people who just settled down without the consent of the natives... Americans should instead focus on assimilation Latinos, teach them to behave in a civilized way, stop wife-abuse etc. It is my impression that many Latino immigrants are poor and want to work. So the white majority society should try to welcome them and mend the Latinos as democratic and civilized citizens in return for giving them a future.

Concerning the death penalty, I'm against it on a principal ground. I do still understand your reservation. I also understand those who say that certain criminals should never be let out of prison. I guess that the damage they can cause for other people is just to big and probable... Still I'd say that even the worst criminals should not be executed. I say this based on the idea in the gospel of giving as many peope as possible the chance to believe in Christ. If we take the life of an infidel he will face eternal comdemnation...

About women pastors it's interesting to read your answers, you being a fundamentalist Christian. For myself I firmly believe that women can be missionaries, have the prophetic gift etc. I've been reading the Bible a lot on this, and many passages in the Epistles seem not to support the idea that a chief pastor or overseer can be a woman. How do you understand these passages? To be honest I feel that they are somewhat challenging. Still I can see many reasons not to understand them exactly as they probably were understood 1900 years ago.

But I agree that both men and women are called to preach the gospel. Definetely.

Dis :)

God has called women to preach as well as men...and be it a pulpit or in the field of a foreign country...God will not limit who He will use and where. Thats my take on it..and that is what the Holy Spirit has told me. Many scriptures are based on cultural traditions, not God's traditions. Not going into a debate about it. Women can be pastors too yes :) God bless

oo as well i updated my profile..I am not a fundamentalist christian I find that to be a degratory term..I am a conservative christian :)

Hehe, that's cool Angelica. :)

Funny that you switched from fundamentalist to conservative. Cause I thought that within American Evangelicalism, that "fundamentalist" was in fact one of the formal branches of it... But I guess that you have used it in another way.

I consider myself to be conservative as well. But I'm okay with other terms as well, such as Evangelical, fundamentalist, protestant etc.

I tend to agree what you say on women as pastors in fact. I'm fully aware of the cultural ties which parts of Scripture has. Still I'm inclined to be a little careful when it comes to certain passages. Anyway I guess that God can and will use women in mission and evangelism. So, being the formal pastor of a local church might not be the greatest hindrance for women who want to serve God...

God bless :)
