I'm from FL and I guess you could say my parents are typical southern Christians. I accepted and believed Christianity upto when I turned 13, then I started to look into other religions - and found Islam.
Allah has shown me the true path and I'm ready to bow down to my maker.
Subhanallah,
May the blessings of The Creator of Noah, Moses, Mary, Jesus (Son of Mary) and all the Prophets including Muhammad (SA) shower His Mercy on you.
3:84
O Prophet, say: "We believe in Allah and what is revealed to us and what was revealed to Ibrahim (Abraham), Isma`il (Ishmael), Ishaq (Isaac), Ya'qoob (Jacob) and their descendants; and in that which was given to Musa (Moses), Isa (Jesus) and other Prophets from their Rabb; we do not discriminate any one of them, and to Allah do we submit in Islam."
always remember the above verse which clarifies that a believer never discriminate any of Allah's chosen people as Prophet's and remember that the real struggle with shaitan starts when a person begins to believe in One True God of Prophets because shaitan will never leave an oppertunity to make evil fair-seeming.
15:39
Iblees said: "Rabb! Since You let me go astray, I will make evil fair-seeming to them on earth and I will seduce them all
15:40
except those of them who are Your sincere devotees."
Respect your parents because there is no medicine in this world which can alter or change your family name. Be patient and kind to them, share what is common in-between islam and christianity (like the birth of Jesus, holyness of Mary, about Adam, Solomen, David, Noah)
17:23
Your Rabb has decreed to you that: You shall worship none but Him, and you shall be kind to your parents; if one or both of them live to their old age in your lifetime, you shall not say to them any word of contempt nor repel them and you shall address them in kind words.
17:24
You shall lower to them your wings of humility and pray: "O Rabb! Bestow on them Your blessings just as they cherished me when I was a little child."
17:25
Your Rabb knows best what is in your hearts. If you do good deeds, certainly He is most forgiving to those who turn to Him in repentance.
17:26
You shall give to your relatives their due and to the needy and to the wayfarers. You shall not be a spendthrift
Last but not least, I can't think of anything that pleases God more then His creation turning towards Him and Believe so, Please, I beg you to pray for me.
May you be blessed and all difficulties be made easy for you (Ameen)
