Doesn't matter if it's 2,000 items...bans aren't the same thing as centralized government ownership over the means of production or expansion of the public sector.

It should also be noted, that not all of the things listed are actual bans, just efficiency standards.

When the government goes into the headquarters of LG and Maytag by force and says "Sorry, we're taking this over, this company is ours now and will be ran exclusively as public entity...same goes for the other washer/dryer manufacturers", then the socialism/communism will be applicable.
They'd use different words, like "You can manufacture what you want, but you'll just go bankrupt".
Ford is already attempting to make biden and his people happy, to the tune of losing $4,500,000,000 so far.

Anyway, Back to the topic of allowing those who aren't citizens to police those who are.....

Then it's still not socialism, it's just over-regulation. If you want to get into why over-regulation can be stifling and can hurt the economy, then we'll likely have large overlap in our views on that. Or if we want to discuss the lack of merits of trying to ban gas stoves, we'll likely agree on that too.

What I disagree on is the assertion that regulatory measures equate to socialism.
Anyway, Back to the topic of allowing those who aren't citizens to police those who are.....
I've already shared my views on that across numerous posts here.

They're basically expanding to allow for non-citizen green card holders who are already allowed to join the military (5,000 non-citizens a year enlist and are welcomed with open arms), to join the police force for their city.

These are people who would've already been allowed to join the national guard if they wanted to under US law (going way back)

I don't see why the police force can't have the same sort of structure and rules in place.
Use it as a means to offer an expedited pathway to citizenship for those who want to put in the time and sacrifice, while placing certain limits on perks and job capacities until that full citizenship is reached

This is largely a "nontroversy"

Sounds like you haven't been keeping up on biden's power grab to outlaw household appliances, the latest being light bulbs.
If you mean am I keeping up with any recommendations your current administration is making to encourage people to use more energy efficient appliances, then no. It doesn't personally concern me. Other than it's good to see someone treating our climate problem seriously. Now if you'll excuse me, I have to sort through a couple of quotes for solar panels.

Maybe Joe could concentrate on making them cheaper for you guys. Mmm. Free electricity...

And now it just clicked what that was actually in response to. What on earth has pushing for greater energy efficiency got to do with any given state's push towards public ownership of the means of production? Apart from indicating that you sound like you don't exactly know what socialism means.

I'm more surprised that you focus on your disagreement about whether socialism while staying silent on the communism part. Are you agreeing that we have that?

True. So now I have two things to discuss..

1. Let me know what appliances you think have been banned, and I will in all probability show you that you are wrong. Because,in all probability, you have got your info from unreliable sources.
2. It has zero connection with states moving to the public ownership of production. So you still don't understand the meaning of socialism.

And as an aside, there's better than an even chance that if you don't know what socialism means, then you will probably misconstrue communism as well.

Well, first they came for the gas stoves (which was originally said to be a conspiracy theory): New York becomes first state to ban natural gas stoves, furnaces in most new buildings

And then they banned the gas furnaces as well. States at Center of Battle Over Gas Furnaces and Stoves

And then the water heaters: California’s 2030 Ban on Gas Heaters Opens a New Front in the War on Fossil Fuels

What's next, gas generators? Not Just Gas Stoves: Biden Admin Rule Would Outlaw Nearly All Portable Gas Generators

So much for it being a right wing conspiracy theory..... EDITORIAL: Gas stove ban conspiracy theory comes true

So if I said that you were wrong in saying that the feds (Biden) are banning some appliances, your response is to show that changes are actually state driven? Well done I guess. I won't need to prove you wrong when you do the work for me.

In the meantime, I hope you've checked on what socialism means. And realised it's nothing to do with appliances pumping out too much monoxide.

The two theories share quite a bit of overlap... and the few differences they have on paper don't tend to manifest themselves in real-world application and everyone ends up poor and hungry, but for the parts I was discussing (with regards to government centralized control and an expansive public sector), that applies to both socialism and communism.

Here's a source that proves you to be wrong about this. It's a left-leaning source, so it would be wrong to disagree with it.

First they dropped the term "illegal aliens". Now they are dropping the term "undocumented migrants". They are calling illegal aliens "migrants".

What's the difference between a "migrant" and a "non-citizen" ???

When borders are wide open there is no such thing as illegal aliens. They are now called "migrants" or "non-citizens".

How are you still arguing this?

It clearly says "Non-Citizens with right to work under federal law". if they're illegal, how would they have the right to work in the USA under federal law?

Maybe you don't know that they're not banning stoves. Maybe you don't know that they are simply regulating energy outputs. Maybe you didn't know that that is effectively ensuring the design of new stoves does not include a constantly burning ignition flame. Maybe you didn't know how small a financial change that would be for the industry:

'In order to bring products into compliance with new and amended standards, it is estimated that the industry would incur total conversion costs of $183.4 million'. Federal Register :: Request Access

That's a ridiculously small amount.

Feel free to read the link. It's quite informative. It'll tell you everything you want to know. And, this is the point you should understand, it has absolutely nothing to do with socialism. Which is why you brought this up in the first place.

"Just In: Illinois Governor J.B. Pritzker has signed a law that will allow illegal immigrants to become police officers and sheriffs deputies. In Illinois American citizens will be arrested by illegals.

Once this takes effect, people who are actively breaking federal law will be arresting Americans if they break they law. This madness from the democrat party is absolutely out of control."

Is anyone actually ok with this?
Let's order them to arrest themselves.
