CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

IJWTS Happy Independence Day! 
I have been guilty of being disappointed in the US, but I realized that if you can't be proud of your own country...then what? That doesn't mean I'm comparing the US to other countries; nor do I mean a cocky kind of pride. I don't mean being blind to the wrongs either. But more about being grateful for what we do have. It's okay to be proud of your own country, and I'd tell that to everyone who lives anywhere else too. This country is me, I was born here, and I am thankful for it.

IJWTS- I just saw Public Enemies. Your jealousy may now wash over me.
IJWTS-I will definitely be seeing that movie when it gets to the cheap (2nd run) theaters, especially knowing that it was filmed in Wisconsin--which is very rare.

IJWTS we are going to a BBQ later this afternoon. We'll be leaving here in about 4 hours. I am excited/nervous. I will be meeting close family friends of J's. The BBQ is at one of his mom's best friend's house...they've been friends since they were teenagers. I am praying that the boys are on good behavior.

I have a feeling I'll be posting a similar comment by tomorrow. lol I got a whole 1 1/2 hours of sleep last night and I'm pretty much busy from now until sometime after midnight tonight....as long as I don't miss church tomorrow I'll be a happy camper either way!

I had a similar plan of seeing it, but a family friend came to visit yesterday and treated us. That's interesting that it was filmed in Wisconsin. You don't hear that about a film too often.
