  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

So, who is it?

IJWTS - I will probably be at the library all night. :sigh:

SPOILER on new Batman and Robin!

Although they could pull something, it appears to be Dick Greyson as Batman and Damian Wayne as the new Robin.

IJWTS: I thought they did really well with this comic event.

:D

Tirale tomates! :p

Star, soy celosa! :sigh: Que tipo do you make?

I wish I could fax food to people!

Many years ago, we used to prepare them with pork in red chili, yet for a long time now we have made them with turkey in red chili. It is healthier, less expensive, and tastes just as superb. Plus, I can actually eat them. (I do not eat red meat or pork.)

LOL!!

Mmmm... que sabrosa. Those tamales sound amazing! My mom only attempted at them once together and they were good. But, they take so long to make and I have the attention span of gnat! My abuelita would make them all the time though. She has been gone for quite some time now. I would love to have more motivation to steam some. Maybe your post helped! :)

IJWTS that the preparation of tamales is time consuming, especially when you only have two individuals spreading the masa on the corn husks. We only had about 10 pounds of masa for this special occasion, but during Christmas we have twenty.

My Sweetie's family fills them with ground beef and cheese. I will have to learn how to make those as well! :)

That's one thing that is so beautiful about the tradition. It encourages families to work together for a delicious end result. :)

Less hands in the masa means more time spent in the kitchen!

IJWTS congratulations, Sapphyre!

IAJWTS that despite being a "wuss" in regard to physical pain and discomfort, I will resist taking medication until absolutely necessary. I have had a headache for the past couple of days and I am on the verge of breaking down and taking Excedrin. :p
