  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

IJWTS Don and I are FINALLY going to attempt our Date Day, which we've had to postpone three times already lol. We're heading to Philadelphia to visit The Franklin Institute, The Academy of Natural Sciences (my animal geek must be sated), and have lunch and dinner at places that Don picked out :) I'm still not 100% recovered from being sick, so please pray that I have the energy to truly enjoy the day, without coughing fits or any of that nasty jazz. Thanks CFers :)

Have you ever been in the middle of a loud, fun party and sat there looking around and then you see chuck77 realising you're the most luckiest person the world?

Suddenly your reality has wisked you in the middle of the ocean with a heart shaped life vest while those around you are setting sail in the opposite direction trying to actually get away from chuck.
LOL! You're a dork. :D

IJWTS - Sometimes your opinion of someone isn't everyones elses opinion of that someone. It's a hard lesson learned (that I learned.)

People are mean-spirited, ugly in nature, and can be down-right rude; I know that all too well, I know I have to be sometimes (the down-right rude part). Always learn to expect this from everybody, and guard your heart :) The Big Guy upstairs will do the rest

This is true. If one person thinks one way about me, I think that must be how everyone thinks. But it's not true at all. Thanks for the reminder

You're welcome, and it's certainly not true. I was actually the opposite though :sorry: For a long time I thought everyone liked me or enjoyed my company and was startled (literally) when I found out this wasn't so. I dont mean to sound conceited, it's just how I was. It took me a long time though in general to realize a few peoples opinions of what I am, or how I act isn't everyones opinion of me (negatively or postively). Once though you realize that not everyone is going to be the same, it gets easier. :)

This is all good advice that I think I need to take heart. Jennie, I've always been the opposite of you. I've always assumed (and still do, to be honest) that most people don't like me for some reason or another. I think it's because I was never well liked as a child and was constantly told negative things about my character (and my physical appearance, but that's another issue for another day! :p). So I guess it still always surprises me when people say nice things to or about me, especially comments like, "Oh you're so nice/sweet/friendly/likable/lovely/etc." My reaction in my head is always "Really? How? Whyyy??" I don't believe it, probably because it contradicts what I was always told about myself (and therefore, accepted as truth). But this advice I think is good. And I think I need to listen to it, apply it, and take it to heart. So thanks for the excellent advice!

IJWTS- that I have a theory that living by the ocean helps keep the stomach flu away. I think it's something about the salt in the air. When we lived inland, there would be a nasty stomach flu that would go around every year. And everyone I knew would get it. Now that we've lived by the ocean for the last 3 years, only one person in my family got it one year and it didn't last that long.
