Any Vera Brittain - Testament of Youth is AMAZING but not cheerful.
I was going to suggest Bridget Jones but humm you might not like a lot of the content It's full of scarily good insights into the female mind though lol.

OK I think it's now obvious that I'm just randomly typing out books by English ppl here My friend read an interesting book about the character of the English, I will get the name of it.

Ooooh also: Bill Bryson, Notes from a Small Island. And if you read something like a Penguin history of the UK you'll probs know more than me about here

Obv this is just if you're interested, not that you actually need to know any of this to live here!!

IJWTS that I got honked at today while getting water from a public spring. By one of those big coal trucks.

It took me 10 minutes to get my heart back into my chest...airhorn = jumped to Jupiter.

IJWTS-I just ran into my sister (at the library) and she's funny. She looked at me and said, "What have I done to you?" She cut my hair last week and this is the first time she's seen me since it's been cut. I happened to have just walked into the library and some of my hair was tucked into my jacket. I untucked my hair and she breathed a sigh of relief.

IJWTS-Got my new work boots. I look forward to lower back being relieved, knees relieved and support for my lower body on hard concrete floors. I also look forward to resting because my neck is aching. Make sure my mp3 player is all ready for work tomorrow so I can jam out to heavy metal while working. Get a quick snack and get some rest...except I should gotten a new hoodie.

IJWTS- I got a surprise a work today. They got me my favorite food and my favorite cake.
Then I realized why they were randomly asking me questions of where I eat and the things I liked. =D It was wonderful. So, so, so grateful!
