If your child, with two healthy arms, came to you and said they felt they needed a third arm, would you support surgery to have an arm attached?
Its not medically possible - what sort of nonsense question is this

The problem is at that age do they really know what is right for them. They should be at an adult age. Let them have their own guilt instead of laying it on their parents. I'm not condoning it at any age I'm just saying
Age is certainly taken into account in the evaluation process.

As a drummer, I would answer enthusiastically yes.

Sad that you’d do that to your child. But it appears I’m in the minority here. Most in the thread have no problem disfiguring their children.

That's hardly true or there wouldn't be so many alarmed about it. Were talking before teens even. Good grief! If the kid only wanted one arm or leg these stupid parents would accommodate. I no longer think it's about the children.

If everything people were alarmed about were actually true, we’d have been crushed under the falling sky ages ago.

But how does this compare to the damage that Christians have been doing to their children for centuries now. Sure we're all familiar with the oft repeated adage to "love thy neighbor", but Christian children are just as likely to learn how godless and wicked their neighbor is, as they are to learn to have compassion for them. Transgenderism is just the latest example wherein some Christians have to be dragged kicking and screaming into having compassion for their fellow man. They'd much rather condemn them than accept them. They'd rather stand outside funeral homes with signs saying "God hates ___", than embrace them as their moral equals.

Oh they'll tell you that it's the sin their condemning not the sinner, but the message, especially to the young and impressionable is the same... "those" people are evil. And no matter what, there's always going to be someone to fill the role of "those" people. The world isn't getting more immoral, people are just being people, with one group pushing the boundaries of what's socially acceptable, and another group condemning them to eternal damnation for doing so. Nothing has changed. It's the same story it's always been.

You'll go to your grave preaching hatred, and you'll teach your children to do the same... and you think transgenderism is bad. It's obviously not the pinnacle of human ambition, but it's a step. You think that you're trying to drag the lost into the promised land, I think that it's far more likely that it's them that are dragging you.

You must hate doctors then.

I’ve not preached hatred. It’s a bit insulting for you to say as much.

We want all to have the promise we have.
It says a whole lot of the parents that the children are that unhappy with themselves. Isn't that what we need to do for them, to love themselves. I think they need to spend time in a childrens hospital where the children even with their limitations are happy and loved . That's all about their special parents.. who love and accept them

Sometimes we fail to realize how what we say will be perceived by others. We're good at masking our disdain as merely a disagreement in perspective, not realizing that people have the ability to read between the lines. They know when they're being judged demeaningly. In most cases we don't have to expressly say what we think in order for people to know how we feel.
I think you might be talking about emotional maturity. And it comes down to sensitivity, being able to put ourselves in someone else's perspective.

And yet we can still have a differing opinion. It just seems that few people have mastered the communication skill of disagreeing without demeaning.
